  • @bartotainment wow, u are the person that bought the 3DO?

  • Wasn't this game released for the Saturn in Europe?

  • @an1man1ac54l1f3

no. saturn version was finished but never released.

developer quote: "[...]the project was stopped because the publisher did not believe the Saturn was going to make it. The Saturn version of Return Fire was therefore never manufactured on "protected" CDs and therefore never released."

  • @realcatgirllover I'm not getting how to play this on my Saturn. I have the download, but I don't understand I guess how to properly put it on a disc to play it. I have a back up cart for my Saturn that allows me to play imported games, will it not let me play this type of file or disc? Could that be the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • @realcatgirllover What; and the 3DO was going to make it?

  • I have been looking for this game forever. All i could remember was that when you blew up a building or turret the base of the building looked like a waffle. I begged for this game forever.

  • ......... why is it being played when its unrelesed

  • @bexluvinste

"I started to contact the producer Prolific, who proofed me, that the game was never released for the SEGA Saturn, as the statement above shows.

After many more emails they sent me a copy from their cellar.

First the game was not running, but with the help of a friend called printf it worked finally."

  • No this isnt mass destruction, I think mass destruction looks better than this, I mean the massive explosions and destructable scenery made the game really fun to play. Never saw a helicopter in mass destruction either. I hate it when they can games, alot of good stuff has never made it.

  • i remember if you went too far out to sea with the helicopter a submarine would try and shoot you down

  • i had the version for the 3DO, it rocked!!! :)

  • I was searching for this game!

I think there is an older version on the sega master systemII ?

    Does somebody know if?

  • i dont think there was a version for the sega master system, the first version was for the panasonic 3DO then there was a version for the psx

  • this game was so awesome :)

    specially multiplayer

  • I had this game in playstation sadly when i was child i sold it !

  • @Kuula10 Biggest mistake in your life!

  • Yes =(

  • i always wanted to play this game

  • I wish this game did oficically come out for the Saturn. I would play it a lot more than I do. For some reason this game just doesn't run on the PS3 (it gets hung up). I have a old PSX, and I was going to play it one time on there, but I couldn't find any playstation controllers.

I gotta get me one. I want to play this game now. That's interesting that you people did put it out for the Saturn anyways (apparently). Maybe someday.

  • this was always a fun game to play, especially against your friends

  • Hi ! I love this game and played it like crazy in the days it ruled ! Can u please please please please please guide me where I can get it now? To possibly play on Vista? Thanks so much if u reply...

  • First saw this one in the movie "In the Army Now!" and played it then against friends in split screen. Though I must say it becomes quite boring after a while.

  • Oh I used to play this with my cousin a lot. I'm gonna find this game again!

On the hunt for nostalgia overdose.

  • I have this on the PS1. It's cool.

  • why cant you play it?

just do compatibility mode on win98 and run on 256 colors and it should work :)

  • I use to play this on the 3DO.. its was AWESOME :D :D :D

  • God I loved Return Fire.

  • Hey, I own the Original Disc of Return Fire for PC I am still glad that I could play this magnificent game!!!

  • They wasted all that work and then never released it for Saturn. :( Wish they would make a sequel or at least put this on XBLA. Thanks for the clip.

  • this could have easily been the Jackal of the 32 bit era.

  • Interesting, my brother and I had both 3D0 and Saturn, I used to play the demo of "Return Fire" on 3D0 but had no idea they planned to release it for Saturn. It's a great game with an awesome soundtrack.

  • I'm pretty certain this was released.

  • no, definitevely not. I can confirm that.

Return Fire gets often confused with Mass Destruction which saw a release in PAL and NTSC regions.

  • I have Mass Destruction. I don't want to be a snob, but I can confirm that Return Fire was released on the PlayStation in PAL.

  • uhm, lol? we are talking about the saturn version here...not the ps version. the saturn version was finished but never released.

  • My mistake, lol.

  • lol nerd fight

    xD

  • @realcatgirllover

agreed, this may seem similar to mass destruction and soviet strike on the saturn, but as an owner of both SS and MD I can guarantee you this is NOT the same game. It does look sweet though and it is a total shame they didn't release this game on the saturn. I would have loved having this.

  • nice 1 thanks for the link im playing it now on my modded saturn cheers allso more good places for saturn isos

    SEGASOLUCE

    ZONESEGA

    TEAMSEGA

  • This is the game that Pauly Shore is playing at the beginning of "In the Army Now" or whatever, from the early 90s. He is in a dept. store playing it on a 3DO while he is supposed to be working. The iso for this is available for free online in some places, I forget where. SSF emulator can run it.

  • "The iso for this is available for free online in some places"

look at the video description. >:/

    "SSF emulator can run it."

It doesn't run very well on SSF.

  • I love this game, could somebody recommend me some game similar to this, but newer?

  • Return Fire 2? lol

  • this game brings up some memorys

  • ditto, i used to play it when i was 5 or 6.

  • WHERE'S THE LAUGH? WHERE'S THE LAUGH?

It makes me want to DESTROY!

Please i beg you to tell me!

  • It's Dies Irae from Verdi's Requiem.

  • I really thought this game came out for the Saturn.

  • i had this game for pc.. unfortunatly i lost it :(

  • noticed this comment a few days back on the Insert Credit site. :O just some stupid writing from some misinformed people...

  • Can this be played on PC?

  • since Saturn emulation has not matured and is very demanding and glitchy... you could try the PC version(runs on xp system with a few workarounds. it's abandonware now so you will find it at the Home Of The Underdogs site(google it).

  • I saw theres a new one in the Sega-Saturn main page... a new emulator.. or a oatch someting like that
