sonic 2 is better. by the time 3 was released,alot of ppl stopped caring much about sonic. i beat the first 2 sonic games no problem but i felt overwhelmed by how massive the levels were in 3 and gave up playing it completely in a level where water chases you and you have to make it through past spikes,ledges and badniks and shit before the water would push you. i hate that fuckin level so much but still love sonic over fagass mario and his PG friends

In the carnival Level for Sonic 3 all you had to do is

rhythmically press up and down. it took me 5 years

to figure that out on it's on.

i had another way of dealing with that part, i would bring tails (someone had to play tails for me) and he would just jump alot on it, though not so much rhythmically but a little random, and when it was just high enough, sonic can quickly go under

took me 3 years to figure out that, then a year later i find out how to do the "other way" myself.

i agree with u, though the carnival stage WAS infat hard, one part actually pissed me off, u know the place where there is only a spining "can" and the door locks on u, that part was so messed up!!, anyway, this truely is the best sonic game IN DA WORLD!!!, i hope sega can make better games for us soon....SEGA!!

This game wasn't as popular as Sonic 2 due to that part in Carnival Night with the drum platform. I remember practically having seizures over that before finding out how to get past it. Personally, Sonic 3 and Knuckles is the 2nd best Sonic game.
