@lostalex77 tell me if I am wrong but from a point of view, Billy was the guy who wrote most of the good stuff by the Pumpkins; Corgan has a high percentage of all the rights to the band and has the right to still use the actual band name 'Smashing Pumpkins'.

Further more he is still touring as smashing pumpkins (yeah it's not the original line up bla bla) atleast @bda617 has had the opportunity to hear such great & insperational songs live!
