GOSPEL HARMONICA welcomes you to come and visit for some Old Time Gospel music play with the HARMONICA. Type in your YouTube search ( GOSPEL HARMONICA OF MAINE CHANNEL ) . Featuring one of my favorites The Old Rugged Cross played with Guitar and Harmonica.
What a pro! I bet with such a high reed count the tremolo harmonica would make up for the lack of volume that the diatonic models lack, which must be why they couldn't be used for 1950s recordings. Yet a slide harp, chromatic or not, adds easy access to the ever important triplets in Irish music. B. Power's use of a slide diatonic makes sense.
The choice of keys is a personal thing. These tunes are played in the keys of Bb and Eb. Of course they can be played in any of the 12 keys of your own choice. The names of the tunes are "The duke of Leinster" "miss langton" and "Fr. kellys no. 2. Best wishes, Dave hynes.
Bloody fantastic, great sound!

what sort of harmonica would you reckon for music like billy joel, and bob dylan

I would recommend a 10 hole diatonic. Either Lee oskar or Hohner. Best of luck, Dave hynes.

I'm interested in the choice of key. Mullingar custom? Or simply comfortable keys on the moothie?
