  • @boxdown I'm not trying to be rude.I don't think sara meant any harm. She was just saying her opinion.Hebrew is a wonderfull language.I don't think she meant she hates Americans. :)

  • A linda espiã Mata Hari que morreu por amor.

  • en vogue super la classe avec le cigareete si on fume faite le avec classe super ca donne envie de bouger ma matahari

  • Her husband doesn't give a crap.

    This shows.

  • I LOVED her in Prince of Egypt, saw it when it first came out about 11 years ago, but never knew who she was. I recently (like, yesterday) started researching her songs when I found out (also yesterday) she did the voice. I LOVE her

  • The story of Mata Hari is a very interesting one... I love this song though!

  • The story of Mata Hari is a very interesting one...

  • Love how much Maddona ripped her off in her mid career crisis / early to late 90s. Obviously cant compaire but the englih spoken parts in this song, maddona realy started to sound like this

  • <3

  • Those days when I danced on this song!! MISSING!

  • I never got to hear this...thank you so much for posting it! Ofra forever!

  • I think its about film "Mata Hari" with Greta Garbo, but not realty Mata Hari.

  • I was missing this song. how nice to hear it again.

  • A truly beautiful lady with an outstanding voice.

  • beautiful song

  • I LOVE YOU ... OFRA HAZA !!!

RIP and hope to watch ,,world`` from heaven ...

    Flori from Romania...

  • i love yemenite jewesh

  • galu galu galu gla (in yemennite languege means- "said and done.said and done"

  • oryginal and fine but she's died.....and i,m so said...

  • Me too!

  • She is lovely & pure why subject her to a Hollywood casting couch? Salvage her purity. Is nothing sacred? Let her choose her lover upon merit...

  • Lets face it Ofra is up there with the likes of the Goddess Athena of Greece. Maybe she should do a song in Greek? She is sexy, beautiful, pure & not a tramp. Hollywood is too leftist if you ask me.

  • Hollywood is no longer worthy of such beauty as Ofra Haza!

  • Well her English is amazing she picked it up so quickly. She did that in devoted love to her feminine ancestory as beloved support. I am sure her Hebrew & Arabic is very fluent. I'd love to see her do works in those & translations. Maybe SarahKafif you can translate these songs to Hebrew & Arabic for those who don't know english there????

  • I love her songs but is she singing always in english for a part I hate it ! :p Hebrew & Arabic is much better.

  • The life story of Ofra Haza is all the stuff that Hollywood loves to turn into films. I am really surprised that her biography has not made it to the big screen. Her legend will live on when the pyramids are dust.

  • There's an Israeli Musical about her life

  • Really? I'd love to see it made into a film with a theatrical release world wide.

  • @amunrey

interesting point, but I think hollywood likes happy endings and redemption, not lives that end with unclear and very sour notes

  • @qyzuf

They did make a movie about Selena who was gunned down by her fan club president. That was another very sad story!

  • @amunrey Yes, that's true, and do you know who could play her? Liel Kolet!

  • by the way the album was cut out but the single did came out....

    i know i have 2.

  • now that was classy!! i miss her! she was the best!

  • It she really saying "A great love cut her life" towards the end?! UGH, I hate the irony in some of Ofra's songs in that they can easily apply to her. :(

R.I.P Ofra, one of the nicest people and best voices to ever exist.

  • It is a tragedy for Israel and for the whole world that such a talent was lost with her untimely death. God blessed her with the voice of an angel and with her beauty. We are blessed with her recordings.. Love from Portugal

  • galo galo galo gla in yemenit means : " said and done,,, said and done...

  • Wow Ofra never knew this existed. My darling Mummy I love it! You definately have vocal abilities. These comments my God never heard such.

Thank God I suspect its all BS. She died of Aides to the Queen & is still very alive. Love you much Ofra. PS...you are pretty. Signed...I'm the nutter who rode Shatar...gives me away huh? lol

  • her husband, her husband, her husband, not ashkenazi society huh?

    yeah, alright.

the working classes never asked to live in mansions; only to live with dignity and not in damn pigstyes or dumping grounds.

sometimes I wonder if the upper classes deprive the lower simply because they enjoy it, and not because its truly to save money.

  • she did died of H I V complications, she was mearried to a dangerous drug addict who died after her from a drugs overdose.... and since she was so naive, she got it.

  • This is a good song, I would like to have it. :)

  • rest in peace shalom from portugal

  • No one can compare to this wonderful artist.

  • What an absolutely exquisite woman Miss Ofra Haza was, her voice is like the angels from heaven in the sky!! It makes me cry tears of joy listening to such intense and amazing beauty, and then I cry tears of sorrow and pain knowing this incredibly beautiful lady is no longer with us anymore!!!!

  • T H E Q U E E N

  • The best Israeli singer ever!

  • Is this available on iTunes somewhere?

  • she have the voice of an angel.....magical Ofra....i love you!

    watch?v=SZSHP2RWMDQ

  • "A great love cut her life"... that's so true! Her husband is responsible for her death, I hope he's in the hell for that! RIP Ofra Haza, you are a true angel of music!

  • tikita tikita tikita ta... :)

  • her voice is so beautiful.missing you-ofra haza.

  • Que belleza de mujer, es una pena lo que le paso , el mundo ha perdido una voz de oro.

    Descansa en paz Ofra.

  • there is a full album called "queen in exile" 1995 she didnt realise the album since she didnt like the resualt.

from the album here in ///youtube another song from the unrelised album type "ofra haza -queen in exile" and check it out...

  • Love this song; very fun to sing along with too. RIP Ofra Haza.

  • WHEN DID SHE DIE? N HOW? this is a shock!

  • it is rumored her horrible husband gave her aids. she died of pneumonia complications.

  • Actually for her to die when she did she would have had to contract it in the mid/late 80's in Germany (they say). He died of something after her not before her.

  • her stinking husband died from a drug overdose - i think it heron...but i am not sure but i know her family believes she caught the disease from him...think about it IV drug user and a cheater!!!

  • Oh wow wonderful song

I can't get that song out of my head !

  • Wonderful song! That's why I loved her when I was a teenager!

  • Of course, a bomb attack, which is why she died in a hospital, of multiple organ failure.

    Not.

It was AIDS, from her pond scum of a husband.

  • Comment removed

  • And you know this..how?

Oh, special, *secret* information no-one else is privy to. In Germany. Suuure.

  • believe what you wanna believe in. what the hell....

  • Considering how much coverage there was, with reporters camping outside the hospital she was at the entire time, it's totally likely she actually died in such a public and completely noticable way. Yeah. Makes perfect sense.

  • this is the first time I listened to Ofra Haza, and then read the comments and I truely dont know who is she, and why you guys are fighting over? i get that she was a spy and some say died of Aids or was executed? Anyways, I dont know anything where she is from. I will be happy to learn little about her.

    Cheers, and peace

  • Ofra Haza, rest her soul, died of AIDS. Her husband was an unsavoury character who many blame for her death. She sang this song.

Mata Hari was a spy, and was executed. That's who this song is about.

  • Ofra Haza is israeli

  • She wasn't a spy, Ofra was singing this song about a spy named Mata Hari, a World War 1 spy that worked for the Germans and subsequently executed.

  • Eventually the French files opened in 1985 on the woman known to the world as 'Mata Hari" stated that she was actually innocent. Very sad, she was just a scapegoat .

  • zabava24 - google search (adria nightlife portal)

  • me too. i cried a lot her lost.

  • through her first sex with fucking husband, who died himself-luckily. RIP my diva

  • i didnt get what u mean?

  • How exactly did she get AIDS? Through a blood transfusion or what?

  • Her husband gave it to her.

  • She was enchanting! incomparable in every sense, and truly irreplaceable...

    May she rest in peace.

  • Sad, she died of AIDS. She was talented. RIP.

  • Hello, does anyone know on which album i can find this song?

    cheers

  • greatest hits 2.

  • when she says tikkita tikkita tikkita etc(i may not have spelled it right and apologize for that but...) it sounds like something from a famous song in Punta (its a honduran song) and i just wanted to know if someone could tell me what that means?

  • Nadhernej song!!!!!

  • Nádhernej song!

  • Ofra is amazing!

    I love her singing

  • LOVE IT. where can i buy this song from? can't find it on itunes :(

  • Wonderful song!!

  • Magnificent Song! Beautiful Singer...We will never forget you!!!

  • Nice song! For a look at the real woman: Mata Hari, and to learn more of her life, watch "Mata Hari" on my channel, and read the 'more info' section. It's an excellent education!

  • Thank You for the accurate Info.

  • Mata Hari, was a dutch woman from the northern region of The Netherlands. She performed for and slept with the german enemy's in the second world war, as a spion. the germans killed her just before The Netherlands was liberated by the Alliance.

  • No you got it wrong, it was in World War I. She was executed in 1917.

  • She was killed by the french nt the german. She spyed for the german

  • Simplesmente maravilhosa!!!!!!

  • This song is completely addictive, I cant go very many days without hearing it. Delicious ;-) She was a magnificent and beautiful phenomenon.

  • i love ofra haza, shes awesome a totaly great woman

    <3 Ofra

  • love ya Ofra <3

  • i love that video, ofra and her singing. you just have to love it

  • is this hebrew ,too??

  • listen it's English!

  • You're all wrong, the only genetics Ofra Haza had were the ones that made her a musical genius... amazing songs appreciated through the ages!

    :)

  • What does all of this talk of Genetics have to do with the music here? She WAS an interntaional singing sensation and was enjoyed be people of all faiths, races, and nationalities. Her life was cut short in one of the most bizzare sets of circumstances I have ever come to find. Let's have some respect for her memory and enjoy the music as she would have had us do. You guys can go anywhere and discuss this kind of stuff. Why here.

  • Inialny what are you talking about? she is as smite as any other jew.

  • To Inialny, (see the first comment below)

As for them being so called "post-WW2 conquerors", it's been proved geneticly by scientists that European Jews (Ashkenazis) and Middle Eastern or North African Jews (Mizrahis) have the same Middle Eastern genetic code in their blood. Some have less others have more, but the fact remains that they originated from Middle East.

  • agreed but understand we 'middle easterns' are africans and you cannot count the Africans out of there true Hebrew blood either.

  • Oh, it was not in my intension to count them out. When I was writing my comment I had a lot of stuff on my mind and didn't elaborate enought on the issue.

  • To Inialny,

At the end of 19th century and the begining of 20th century while the land in question was still under Turkish rule, jews (beside jews other nationalities too) were legally allowed to buy land from locals.

Local arabs were gladly selling some of the worst pices of land (swampy, mosquitoes infested lands, others with rocky desserty soil, what made extremly difficult to grow something on it)for prices far exceeding the land's actual value.

To be continued in next comment...

  • Ofra Haza is a true Israeli person, genetically a Semite, like Arabs, unlike those post-WW2 conquerors.. brought from Eastern Europe to the legendary (biblical) land adjacent to Dead Sea

  • iniainy,

You shouldn't call them conquerors. They came as peaceful settlers. They bought land. They were attacked constantly, so they had to defend themselves and finally fight a war to defeat an invasion by Arab armies.

  • "They bought land"? Who from?

  • very nice......... veryyyyyy niceeeee song

krásnej hit ale vsechny jsou od Ofry uzasné......... I Love.....hebrew music

  • was very ahead of her time in the musical sense.Great voice and presense.

  • why was my comment rated low? I just said that Ofra and actress Eva Longoria look-alike. What's wrong with that? They are both beautiful.

  • I love it!

  • Maybe you should say how much Eva Longoria resembles Ofra Haza... and they don't, since one is from the Middle East and another is Latina.

  • Oh shut up, they look alike, it has nothing to do with where they come from.

  • That's a stupid ass comment.

  • Where can I find her songs in CD so I could buy it?

  • i will die for her

  • She has the most beautiful voice I've ever heard!

  • learn some yeman and maby youll me smart enough to understand... right now you are too stupid.

  • great song

  • bellissima canzone! ma in italia purtroppo non è mai uscita... un vero peccato

  • man i just love her voice shes so pretty shes like selena she died 2

  • Selena, la Texjana hija? Estan una grande pena que ella no esta aqui con nos otros. Claro que si. Una lastima.

  • Can anyone tell me what album this song is from? I've recently become very interested in her music. Can't get this song out of my head. thanks

  • it's on her Greatest Hits Vol.2 album.

  • dont mistake the people' its only 9 songs in her greatest hits volume 2

in the real unrealised album was 10 songs!

1 of them " queenin exile" is unrealised till today.and was never reliesed world wide' the album.

  • the unrealised album had a 'dance version' that is partly in english of the track "Queen in Exile", which is on the Greatest Hits album.

  • "queen in a dream of exile" (7) is in manginat a lev 2

    not "queen in exile"(4).

  • "queen in a dream of exile" (7) is in manginat a lev 2

    not "queen in exile"(4).

  • ok, so this is the story: ofra tried to realiese in 1995 an album called " queen in exile" she didnt like the resualt and cut out &destroyed all the album b4 it came out, but she did realise the single "mata hari" in 1995, be4 she decide to cut out the album. so the single did come out. 9 songs of the album include in ofra haza manginat alev vol 2.

  • I think her Euro 83 was the best Eurovision song I have heard. It made me cry. This is a great song too.May your soul rest in peace Ofra,

  • Watch her performance in 1983 Eurovision. Great song too.

  • Yes,you´re absolutely right.

  • we miss you ofra z"l!

  • Maybe, now she´s looking at her fans from the heaven?

  • MAN I LOVE HER!!!! THE GREATEST!!

  • she looks like cher! and she has a similarly incredible career

  • Sublime voice. Rest in peace, Ofra Haza.

  • only the good ones die young

  • Love Ofra but most Israeli singers don't sound too great in English. Rita included.

  • Hmm.. Lets see you sing in Yemenite and Hebrew! ;)

  • OFRA HAZA was like a royal queen from the Old Testament - now a jewel in the Kingdom of heaven!!

  • Love it Love it Love it!!!!!!!!!

    This is an amazing song.

My mom, my lil sister, and I can't get this

    one out of our heads.

We have to listen to it atleast 5 times a day

    now, Loud!!.

    I agree.

Just Listen to her Beautiful voice,

    and indulge in it.

    =]

  • Hi Can we just enjoy the music of Ofra Haza without the need to dredge up epithets and racial slurs or inane comments about her origins or her beliefs? If one is REALLY interested in Ofra Haza there are more than enough sites (including the Official site) devoted to such information!

  • Hey Arikm7

finally a good comment about the idiocy of those arguing on politics geneology and things Ofra Haza was trying to get people to forget and listen and enjoy. I think it would bother her to know that people are still doing all that after all her devotion to peace and togetherness. there should be more people like you

    Shalom

  • The English lyrics are ill-suited and discordant.
