  • If the guitar hero chart was expert+ it would have ghost notes, but this comparison is crazy

  • I think that usually guitar heros charts are wrong

  • @MyCoolboy17 what are charts?

  • @TomClacy5871 the note highway is also called a chart

  • i think they about even bc rock band has more notes at times but guitar hero has an extra color. but it comes down to what the ppl like better

  • If you actually go and listen to the rock band version you can clearly tell it's different... Just because the version you listen to does not make it "Overcharted"

  • @DrumminDanthology24

" Just because the version you listen to does not make it "Overcharted" "

Amazing. Good job. Excellent. You were probably a wiz in English class.

  • guitar hero won

  • god damnit, rock band is fuckin overcharted, if you use headphones you can hear the song fits perfectly to gh's chart and the toms sounds clearly

  • Arguing which is better is a moot point as the song is terrible.

  • You all don't understand that this version of the song is different than the one used on Rock Band. In it, the toms match the song exactly. Multiple takes of songs are always recorded, so Guitar Hero and Rock Band have different master tracks. It's happened with a lot of songs they share.

  • Rock Band is overcharted.

  • RB is more accurate.strait up.

  • @MrAbomasnow it was just my opinion. But yeah, I seen Godsmack live, and they did play this song.fun.

  • @DWRhythm You realize bands play songs differently live right? Or were you too dumb to realize? Right thats what I thought. Face it rock bands chart is better, guitar heros in undercharted. Fact.

  • HAHAHA! GUITAR HERO DISCONTINUED THEIR GAMES! XD

  • the rockband version is correct, if u listen closely, the drummer just hit the tom insanely soft with his left hand

  • GH! da mas razon a sus notas

  • Tony guitar's tone is wesome!

  • I'd expect a real drummer to know what ghost notes are...

  • @Cheese95PSN I do know what Ghost notes are, and those are not ghost notes. It also helps I've seen Tommy (Godsmack drummer) play this song live many times.

  • rock band chart is way overcharted

  • why the hell did rb chart it that way. def looks more fun but completley wrong

  • definately rockband. id rather have a fun song over all then a chart that doesnt match up. but if its a sdhitty match up then fuck that hah

  • in my opinion GH drums are more fun cuz of the two toms and snare then the hi hat and cymbal set up

  • The hell, Rock Band? :/

Oh, I get it. GH overcharts Guitar and RB overcharts drums.

  • I personally think all the rolls in rb make it more fun

  • if only gh drums were better quality

  • rb may be overcharted but its a hella lot funner to play IMO

  • if you keep making these videos take hyperspeed off because its kind of hard to look at both charts when they are going so fast

  • @shav12 yeah I'm not goin to use Hyperspeed next time around.

  • Harmonix had a different drum audio so using the original isn't really fair for the RB chart to be marked as "overcharted" it is actually very accurately to it's own drum audio.

and personally i think it is WAY more fun to play than the GH version.

  • rockband.

  • @x17spartan for some reason, this comment made me wish I had 2 Xbox 360's. I'd actually try both songs one stick on each kit. Wow...

  • I choose no chart, they both look descently accurate and thats all that matters

  • @DWRhythm haha

  • gh has the best chart, but rb looks more fun to play

  • i would have to say that rockband is better, the drumming system is better than GH even if they overchart, i have both games and perfer RB for drumming but GH for guitar. RB has a better vocal system also

  • @gkcl1 really? I can't stand RB drumming, The chart bouncing in and out everytime you hit a bass note really messes with me

  • is it just me , or does HMX overchart almost every fucking song now adays?

  • @Jacopr93 They do, except double bass

  • @Jacopr93

yes, and wait for RB3 - those songs are majorly undercharted

  • GH chart correctly, almost 100% of the time.

RB chart close enough that not too many people will complain, and make it 2x as fun. I can imagine GH charting something like Guns of Summer correctly and it would be nowhere near as fun as on Rock Band.

  • RB chart looks more fun :P

  • Is that GH WoR, but also that is very overcharted by HMX.

  • If you're going to do comparisons, use the singled out drum track of songs instead, if you can. Might be hard to find them but them but it makes it much more valid. Just because you have trouble to hear it in the original mixing of the song doesn't mean it's not there.

Just for the record, Harmonix are masters of singling out audio tracks. In RB Beatles all the original instrument recordings were on ONE audio track. They singled out guitar/bass/drums out of those. Quite impressive right?

  • wtf

  • Of course RB's chart is not going to be the same as the CD, they were mixed differently. A bunch of RB songs have different mixing on them.

Furthermore, so what if RB is overcharted/undercharted/betweencharted/etc, both games do it, it's how they feel it should be played by their ears.

  • Harmonix isn't just adding notes that don't exist. The toms hits are certainly there when you listen to the solo'd out drum stem, and even just when you listen to the song with the mix that's used in RB while playing drums.

The GH chart matches the MP3 more, but the RB chart matches what was played more.

  • @Mystakin If that was the case, then why would the band/record label release an inferior product? It just doesn't make any sense. Also, don't get me wrong, HMX knows what they're doing, and so does Activision. It's just when I hear a song on a CD, then I play it like that because that's what was originally intended to be released. Remember, the music in this video is from "The Faceless" CD and not either game.

  • @DWRhythm It's not that the band/label released an inferior product, Activision and Harmonix received the same thing. The difference is Guitar Hero authored it to what pulls through, audibly, on the CD mix. Harmonix re-mixed what they received to bring out hits that aren't audible in the CD mix and authored to the NEW mix. Neither company is wrong or over/undercharting... it's just two different philosophies on what should be authored for a rhythm game.

  • @Mystakin wow gerad just buzzkil you fattty

  • THUMBS UP FOR GUITAR HERO YO

    lol

  • THUMBS UP FO ROCKBAND YO

  • Comment removed

  • Could you turn off hyperspeed next time? It's a little hard to see when they're going that fast.

  • I see what you're trying to do, but look up a video of someone playing this (RB, not GH) if you listen carefully, that fill at 1:24 is actually charter mostly correct (if not all correctly). The games use different versions of the song, but we all know that RB likes to overchart, but GH isn't 100% innocent.

  • @Airforce790 I actually agree. One thing I do notice is RB does change up the song from the original audio. It's like I told the guy in the comment further down, it's the same audio, just modified. HMX likes to go for that "live sound".

  • It's too bad I don't have the mental capacity to actually pay attention to both highways. Colors are messing with my eyes.

  • @JThePrezident yeah I tried that too, talk about a headache... I just listen to it and watch one chart at a time.

  • @JThePrezident rofl agreed.

  • Guitar Hero did something better for once! :D

Just kidding, GH and RB are great games.

  • @flashboy5000 it's lie I said, as a drummer, I love both games. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, but I'm more aimed towards the songs that are in both games.

  • The Rock Band one looks like a train wreck.

  • NICE COMPARISON! I love this song...well kinda gets boring after you hear it over and over again.

  • Well obviously the guys at HMX are hearing something different. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't overchart anything THAT badly.

  • @RustyWaffle The thing is, I don't knwo what HMX is hearing. The audio you hear on this video is from the "Faceless" CD, which HMX and Activision used the master tracks from to chart this song.

  • Sorry to disappoint, but RB used a different version of the song where the fills are clearly audible.

  • @jjjmanyo RB used the song's original audio.

  • @DWRhythm Then why did I just watch a vid of it being FCed that sounded A LOT different.

  • @jjjmanyo Then it's not the original master, like they claimed.

  • @DWRhythm Damn Harmonix.

  • @jjjmanyo Hey dude, Put on some headphones and go listen to the audio of that FC. I noticed what you're hearing, but pay close attention and you'll notice it's not actually what you think it is. HMX did edit the actual drum tracks though. It's the exact same song/drum track, but just with some extra effects and eq.

  • @DWRhythm Well I'm gonna take your word for it since my speakers are terrible lol

  • Yeah, RB definitely overcharted the song.

  • @ammuine No, RB used a different track.

  • @jjjmanyo If I heard that track, then it would make sense. With the one I just heard, it's overcharted.

  • ive seen a few other people do this kind of thing. IMO a chart reflects a persons comprehension of an audio track so obviously its subject to differences.
