You didn't tell me anything about "Ugly" Vista and "Real" Vista. If it's ugly, Why are You going to install it? My opinion is based to the Vista Minimum System Requirements.

Ultimate/Home Premium:

>1GHz of CPU, >1GB of RAM, >128MB of Graphics

Home Basic:

>800MHz of CPU, >512MB of RAM, >64MB of Graphics.

Your HDD is OK. I don't know how much Vista takes, but it won't take over 5GB (My opinion).

i have managed to extract windows pe from the vista install dvd and tweak it to run off my flash drive

whwn u do this you can inject drivers in it wen it starts it will open a cmd pormpt from there you can do almost anything

you know the first screen you get in the vista instalation is actualy a version of windows its called windows pe 2.0 or windows pre-instalation envirounment it is a micro version of the vista kernel and runs 32bit apps and formats ntfs and all

thank you helped me out. oh and ps when you have a prevouis version of xp and your installing vista from a cdrom cause ur regular version of xp is fucked up. just follow this guys steps :P. it helps out alot activitate ur serial when your version of vista is installed. not before cause it wont work . it will ask u to do it from the version of xp u used to have.
