  • to build unity and oneness. Student leader is good for the high schoolers who are grasping it more and have the gift to lead. And the ones who don't have the gift but need depth should get that similar attention to the student leaders.

Some things in conclusion, do need to be Sr Jr separate. Be it various trips that are more catered to one group, or a lesson that relates more to one group. Though, the occasion once a month lesson together couldn't' hurt either.

  • From a youths perspective.

Youth group for both Sr and Jr should be on the same day. Open together and close together, but divide for the lesson. The kids in each age groups have different problems, needs, and are at different points in their lives even though they are still close in age.

You could teach the same lesson but on different depths or intensity lives but that's more of a preference things. As for events, they should mainly be together. Most events do need to be together in order

  • Breaking up junior high and high school is not all wrong but I can speak from personal testimony that our group of young people are from 12 to 21 with no complaints, I believe the only problem for most youth groups would be distraction and a detour of the Gospel/regeneration of the Holy Spirit which makes churches flourish with power love and unity. i.e We don't have much illustrations or "fun" times, these young people genuinely have the most fun praying at the end of our services doxology.

  • The more of Jesus they want the more Jesus they will receive, and the fruit will be shown, the seeds will blossom and the focus becomes the Gospel and reaching the world, nothing less.

  • @Skripmusic Sounds like you guys have a great ministry going there! Keep up the great work! :)

  • There is definitely some cliques at our youth group, and I'm not too fond of it, but it's middle school, it'll happen. I don't think there's too much segregation though.

It could be a cultural thing too, Tim, you never know.

    :]

  • @CandiceJoy2005 Yeah, it is natural, but is it naturally wrong? It does happen on their own, but I'm not content to throw my hands in the air and do nothing about it if it's separating the body of Christ in unhealthy ways, ya know?

  • @godrox I totally agree with you. I've been trying to get different kids to hang out with other kids that they wouldn't normally hang out with by introducing new kids to kids who aren't like them.

For instance, if one girl is a quiet Anime fan who likes to draw, I'd introduce her to the louder, crazier, kids who like to sing.

Or if a guy likes to play baseball, and is into playing Halo in his spare time, I'll bring him to the guys who like to play Halo, but don't like sports.

    :]

  • @CandiceJoy2005 Cool. How's that been working so far? Are they connecting once you introduce them to each other?
