Sounds like every song on The Devil You Know but with Gillan singing instead of Dio. As much as it pains me to say,Iommi has clearly run out of GOOD ideas. Hell, this riff sounds like something I would come up with and I don't even PLAY guitar. It's a half hearted parody of what Iommi was once capable of.
@Chrisdrumz How many multiplatinum selling albums have you recorded again ??? How many music genres have you I NV E N T ED ??? Yeah that's right......none. Shut up and bow to your master you troll.
@Chrisdrumz Sorry, buddy, but I think you're out of your mind. Are you saying that this sounds like The Devil You Know album? And you're saying they're not GOOD ideas? And you say you don't play guitar? How would you know what the hell you're talking about? Iommi doesn't write BAD ideas. Some are not as GOOD as some others, but never BAD. If you don't play guitar, you probably COULDN'T have come up with this. Stop trolling, learn how to play the guitar before judging, or gtfo. Thanks
The production on this song is first class, as are the players. Iommi continues to write first rate songs. I have never been disappointed by any of Iommi's work. His last solo album was some of his best work yet. I hope this group of guys release a full album and tour.
F@cK YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the straight best song I have heard this year! There are 4 of my heros all working together! please do a full album! I will buy it!
Re: the riff; not every song has to be a headbanger, you know. A good guitarist can write complex, badass riffs...a great guitarist can do that as well as write simple great-sounding riffs...a legend can do both and knows when each is appropriate.
And Tony Iommi is probably the greatest metal guitarist of all time so I think he knew what he was doing when he put this guitar track down.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is this from a whole album of these guys? If it is I want to hear more! I have been a fan of most of these guys (except for jason...the kid among them) for over 30 years...some close to 40...and this rocks...they all still got it!
These two songs are absolutely outstanding!!!!!!!I have never been so excited to hear something since the two Ozzy tracks on the live album!I always loved DIO ,but Ian sends chills down my spine!
Iommi hasn't aged one bit , checked out his site to see what was new as I'm eagerly waiting another solo album or something and this was a surprise and I usually don't like Ian Gillan's voice.
who says these ol timers can't rock - the young dudes can take a cue from these living legends - try and create something this good today while in your youth, let alone decades later that still stands up and is current
uh yeeeaaaaah that's nicko - either you don't know maiden since you didn't immediately recognize him or you obviously didn't check the description which would have told you lol - when all else fails, it helps to check the description before posting ;)
That would be awesome if these guys played some shows or even did a tour. Ya know play some Born Again sabbath along with some purple songs thrown in.....just wishful thinking, i guess. Tony needs to get back to work...
@HeepsterMac Yeah I just found out now. I did research. They look different. Ian Gillan looks completely different compared to what he looked like in the early 80's!
Too bad Born Again didn't have this sort of production. I like the sound of this, and I'd love to see Gillan and Iommi record a full album worth of songs . . . perhaps with Geezer Butler and Ian Paice.
This is a great song. And the amount of talent in this band is phenomenal. I could only imagine if they decide to put out a full length album. It would show that with age talent doesn't go away.
