C-L-A-S-S-I-C! This was from his very first album, Radio. This track cannot be matched by anybody! Thanx 4 posting. I haven't heard this in about 25 plus years!
HELL YEAH !!! I never heard this on the radio. BUT saw him perfrom this live at the "Fresh Feast" in Long Beach CALi in 1985. One of the best concerts EVER!
@aush1969 I can dig it, I saw his first tour. When I first met Cut Creator I told him how dope this song was and he just smiled cause he knew it was true.
back when I had to hear it over and over again!! can't believe what we have allowed to happen to hip hop... it has been taken hostage and we need to get it back''
With that said, this is one of the freshest remixes ever! I used to turn my headphones up on the recordplayer and just zone out into great lyric land! Bring back real hip hop at its best form and get rid of all these no jacks! In fact don't diss L, diss Soulja Lil Boy and G-Spot Lil Boys, all that stuff is crap! Peace!
What's up with all the LL dissing, he is a legend and you all don't diss any of the other rappers when they go into legend status! Enjoy the song and give your throwback comments, not your nonsense comments!
@JayTronik : Indeed, he was the greatest!!! Those who were there and can remember the time could never deny that. He was the Michael Jackson of rap in terms of his untouchable status, but for some reason, over time, he has declined dramatically. I don't understand how such a thing could happen. What happened to the vocabulary??? What happened to the soulful passion and confidence that touched and inspired us all? It seems that he has lost his soul and attempts to fake it with an ego facade.
I love the photo too! Represents real hip-hop as I recall it. He`s not posing by a ride with chrome rims but rocking the boombox. That`s was the ride back then.
I`ve been waiting 23 years to hear this remix again. Damn! I can`t believe it`s been that long. Keep up the good work. This is pure hip-hop,unfiltered at its best!
Oh man this brings back a fond memory for me. I remember the day I first heard this remix. It was in the high school parking lot, and white guy was in a 65 mustang banging the shit out of this one. I feel in love with the song right then in there.
I remember I had this 12 inch, I wore it out

" Vocal Cords So Ruff That I Could Eat Cactus" That one line equals LiL Wayne's whole career. LL was the best solo hip hop artist EVER.

I've been waiting for years to hear this again. I scratched up my 12" of this learning how to mix in 1987!
Bout time this was posted! After hearing this version with Cut Creator scratching that flute sample and "rock" the album version sounded weak to me!
soln4suhreborn 3 years ago
@soln4suhreborn Actually that isn't Cut Creator doing the scratching on this. Jazzy Jay who remixed this version is one behind the turntables.
blackwaxjh 1 year ago
@blackwaxjh True, but Cut Creator did the cuts on the LP version though, definitely.
