  • @AmericanPowerBase I don't mean to put down the song in anyway but this is not the performance to solely judge Klaus Nomi's talent as a performer. He was clearly being fun in this song and not trying to showcase his vocal abilities.

  • @AmericanPowerBase Damn near passed out lmao but fun :)

  • "Klaus, at least use a condom when you stroll the harbor area!" – "Don't tell me what to do!"

  • imagine hitler is singing this during one of his teathrical speeches

  • As the irradiated ashes of Lady Gaga and her ilk sink to the floor...

    SUPERFANTASTIC!

So far ahead of his time it's not even funny.

What a loss. Klaus, you will not be forgotten.

  • this is pretty gay but i think the b-52's might have some gayer songs... lol. but i love klaus nomi.

  • Excellent! I adore this song already (especially with Lesley Gore), but with Klaus it's like something I've never heard... Excellent, like I said!

  • Tonight I was finally able to sing this song in the same pitch as Klaus - including the high bits at the end! Prouder than I possibly should be, but still, happy :)

  • I've only recently discovered Klaus Nomi - he was utterly unique, and his vocal talent was just incredible. He really deserves more recognition.

  • three cheers to rush limbaugh for playing this song. he's probably given klaus nomi more exposure than he's had in years. (at least until the documentary was released.) so don't go labeling rush a "homophobe."

  • @jonbecker03

Rush Limbaugh really needs to come out already.

  • THE BEST OF ALL TIME

  • Yeah, beaten by the oh so masculine jews. Like Woody Allen, Paul Auster and Albert Einstein.

  • Albert Einstein, my kind of guy, yum!

  • @BoyJewish You're an idiot and a disgrace to your religion and race.

  • @BoyJewish Also, he moved to America when he started performing like this. Also went to France.

Germany was a great nation, but it was run by a man who lost his mind to racism and drugs. Remember who he was able to imprison.

  • That's just wrong in so many ways.

  • This was perhaps one of the best examples of his vocal range.

  • @Kuzmenko1 I agree. Cold song was also very good at showing his range.

  • Genial

  • Is this file audio-only? There is no video picture (black screen).

Klaus Nomi was IMO an as exceptional artist like Michael Jackson.

It is a pity that he died so early of a disease against that at his time nobody had knowledge how to protect against.

  • There's no official video to the song and I gave it a black screen intentionally.

  • It´s absolutely great!

    Nomi forever^^

  • ugh....what did that fat bastard have to say about Nomi?

  • Yeah, you are.

  • Klaus Nomi was proud to be himself and life his life his own way! In fact, the song fit him very well.

  • doesn't mean I have to agree with his mannerisms.

  • True, but he wasn't being himself for you. He was being himself for, well... himself. Sadly, he died 20 years ago, so it's not like he could go back and change his mannerisms, even if he had wanted to do it for you.

  • wasn't saying that he was doing that. I'm probably just one of a bunch of people who didn't agree with his mannerisms.

  • nice cover

  • sing it KLAUS........

  • Love this cover of the Lesley Gore song, acutally I like Klaus' version better.

  • I like how he and Iggy Pop are villains in Venture Bros.

  • The dude had a lot of Klaus!! I'm an old guy and I like this version more than the vapid Leslie Gore version from about 1964. This song gets up and goes!!!

  • I just discovered NOMI.. how sad he died young.. what a talented fellow...

  • NOW THIS IS MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!

  • life is stranger than fiction has never been more true with this...person.

  • Sempre gostei e continuarei a gostar....cada vez k O ouço p/ mim é divinal..........

  • A great rendition by a very odd man, homosexuality not withstanding. Quite a good opera singer, actually. Not NY Metropolitan level, but had a great set of pipes.

  • That will make sense, seeing as Klaus Nomi was actually a homosexual.

  • Actually, Rush has only ever said good things about Klaus and his music. It's pathetic when people spout off generalizations about other people without having a clue as to what they're talking about. Free thinking with facts should be treasured. Spouting off to what you think others think is retarded and posting it for everyone to see is even more stupid.

  • "Rush has only ever said good things about Klaus and his music." True, as far as I know. He does refer to him as "the late, great Klaus Nomi." Yet I thought it was in bad taste when he played Klaus' "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead" as he announced AIDS deaths. Glad he's switched to this song in recent years. His love of Klaus Nomi is about the only thing I have in common with Rush.

  • klaus nomi is a genious. his music and lifestyle are amazing. fucking love him.

  • He is more than 20 years dead...

  • you just ruined that guys life lol

  • Shocker - a Rush Limbaugh listener calling someone a fruit. Yes, he's gay. He's also got a pretty impressive voice. So what was your point again?

  • "This guy is a fruit" more than that, he was one of the first celebrities to die of AIDs, as well as an incredible musician.

  • "Incredible musician" is going a little far. Incredibly unique entertainer, yes. Not much in the the musicianship department, though.

  • Really you don't think so? He had an incrediable vocal range for a male opera singer, incomparable even. He remade a lot of pop songs but did write a few of his own. Even his solo singing is really amazing, I think that would qualifiy him for a incredible musician, he made beautiful music asides from silly stuff like this.

  • Listen to his rendition of The Cold Song, and feel free to zip up that silly mouth of yours.

  • Is this who sang Patrick's song on Spongebob?

  • Oh well I feel like an idiot!

  • @WhiteHatBobby he died in the late 1980's from AIDS

and he was unique and I still can't believe his voice

watch his documentary, its called The Nomi Song, you will learn a lot about him.

  • sorry, its 1983, guess that's early 80's

  • I'm so very, very straight. But I love this great man's music so very, very much! I feel guilty every time I sit a Youtube and go through his songs, those giganitics masterpieces he left us. He was a talent.

  • @Profsportster

Don't you think it's strange that you had to clarify your sexual orientation before complimenting another man's singing talent? Seems kind of self-conscious...

  • Love the song. Love Klaus. I think you have one lyric wrong, though:

Because you don't know me, don't try to *shame* me in any way

Should be *change* me in any way.

    Thanks for sharing this!

  • He has an accent =P

  • Das scheint eins seiner Markenzeichen gewesen zu sein!

He inspired me to speak English with a heavy German accent.

He seems to be doing it on purpose! Love it.

  • Ummmmm "any gayer if he tried"???? He didn't have to try. He was the fucking gayest and most fabulous!!!!

"any gayer if he tried"........you are fucking hilarious.....get over your cheap self.

  • Thank u very much...for a long time im looking for this version by klaus nomi.

  • kikke muziek

  • Klasse

  • He made Tiny Tim seem "normal."

  • Normal times at Pyramid. Great post! Thank you.

  • I'm blind!!!!
