  • Very smooth and pleasing way of performing this song. Yours is the best cover that one can find on the Web. Congratulations!

  • Thanks for the comment.

  • What chords should I be using for this song? I play a G-C-D-E tuned uke. Thanks

  • Your Song is Best! Your coming out with a CD? If your doing then i will bought it! This is Awsome!

  • No CD. Sorry.

  • That's a shame! Really love your version! You been playing a long time? Could you give me the chords?

If not no worries, and keep on playing

  • Sorry, don't have time to work them out. They're exactly the same as the Nanci Griffith chords. Just google it.

  • tabs please mister!! Love the tune!

  • Sorry, don't do tabs.

  • this is wonderful! sung perfectly! i love ukuleles!

  • It is a great song to sing though.

  • you are amazing!

  • Thanks.

  • Fantastic, good job!

  • Thanks.

  • Your version of this tune is amazing my 12 day old son has listened on mesmerised and wide eyed the first peice of music he has ever heard thank you.

  • That's a joy to hear. Thank you.

  • I love this song...It's hard to give a good bob dylan song a nice thick folk quality on the ukulele, but you've done it!

I'm always admiring your skills and style, Mr. Middleton.

  • Hi Danielle. Thanks very much. It is one of my favourite songs too.

  • would i be able to play this on standard tuning?

  • Of course. It would just be a little higher.

  • Oh thats great! Im going to give it a shot than. Ill just look up the chords. Thank you. :)

  • Fantastis! I Love you!

  • Thank you.

  • sweet as

  • Thanks.

  • Great job! Wonderful vocals.

  • Thank you.

  • awesome!!!

  • Thank you.

  • very good cover!

  • Thanks.

  • Very cool! I've been thinking about doing this--I hope you won't think I'm copycatting. It won't be exactly like yours, though. :-)

  • You go for it. Love to hear it.

  • Thanks! :-)

  • I really need to get my hands on a few Bob Dylan's albums.

  • Yes, you won't regret it.

  • very nice as always, got to love Dylan's lyrics! Great song.

  • Thanks very much.

  • is there any way that you could post the struming pattern for this and the chords and i think i could get it...... thanks a lot love your music.....

  • I don't believe in strumming patterns, but it's actually just up-down most of the time. It is the left hand that matters.

  • could you pleas post the chords for this one??

  • Simply sublime ... thank you.

  • Thank you.

  • wow! thank you. inspiring.

Appreciate the notes in the info section too.

Nanci Griffith does some good work. I hope to see more of her songs worked out. This one really worked in your hands.

  • Thanks very much indeed.

  • Really nice.

  • Thank you.

  • very good

  • Thanks.

  • Wow. 5 stars!

  • Thanks.

  • That's a great song and an even greater performance. Thank you.

  • Thanks very much.

  • man your great when i get older i wanna be skilled like yourself. very nice keep it up. do u have a CD

  • No CD, but you can download the mp3s of a lot of my music.

  • Wonderful and creative version. Do you have the tabs posted anywhere. You are a great inspiration. Thanks.

  • No, I never do tabs for songs. You can probably find the chords on Chordie. Sorry.

  • Very nice, I like the sort of percussive folk sound, I tried to work out the cords you used but the uke doesn't lend it's self to allowing you to work out cord patterns in videos!

  • I'm not always playing straightforward chords. Most are simple though. Check on any chord site e.g. Chordie. I play it in Bb.

  • Nice.

  • Thanks.

  • Thanks Adelle. I was wondering if you'd like this one.

Take a look at my wedding song if you have the time (on this channel).

  • You've done it again, you son of a gun. *****

  • Thanks Mary-Anne. I am quite pleased with this one.

  • Wow, such a sad song shouldn't make me wanna dance. Really great adaptation.

  • Thank you very much.

  • Hi Ken,

I think this is one of my faves of yours so far.

Great job! Suits you really nicely!

    All the best.

  • Thank you Chris.

  • Another wonderful rendition Ken...now I'm inspired to learn this one. I live on a boat so am always looking for sailing songs. Plus.....I"m a strummer, not a picker so this is way cool for dummies like me. cheers

  • It's a great song. there is a Bob Dylan website where you can listen to all his songs for free. Just google "bob dylan". It's at the top.

  • Man, that's beautiful. Probably one of my favorites of yours. I grabbed the mp3 to listen to when I'm on the go.

  • Thanks Ben. the MP3 is a slightly different mix and has better sound quality, but it doesn't have the same "wall of sound" backing.

  • wow!

    5 stars and favorited!

    sounds great!

  • Thank you, Jeff. I appreciate it.

  • Great! I like it.

I thought it was wonderful even if Dylan's music was played by an ukulele.

  • おかげで非常に。

  • can you make a mp3 of this? I love it.

  • OK. Follow the link.

  • Oh man! Just as I thought - you do Dylan so perfectly even Bob himself would be envious! Your voice is just perfect for it, and this is one of your best vocal performances I think. Thanks so much for recording this for me, Ken! A spanish boot full of stars!

  • Thanks R. I love the "boot full of stars" line. I'll use that myself.

  • Any container will do as long as you fill it with stars.

  • Thanks Derek.

  • Great cover Ken. The strumming instead of picking works well. Great vocals too!

  • Strong singing. I Liked the Bb tuning.

  • Thanks Brad. Bb tuning works really well on a tenor uke, particularly with Aquila strings.

  • Great job...

    Travis

  • Thank you, Travis.

  • Size 9.5 for me.

One of my favorites Ken, and as usual - a spectacular rendition.

  • Thank you, Coyote, glad you liked it.

  • Great rendition of a great song.

  • Thanks, Seeso.

  • So whats the benefit of tuning a full step lower? Does it make some of the chords easier?

  • Makes the uke sound deeper, makes the strings less tight (like a concert), makes it easier to play certain chords.

  • excellent strumming and singing! you do Dylan very well.

  • Thank you Russ.

  • Well sung and played Ken...

    I've always loved this song.

  • Thanks Jake.

  • wonderful

  • Thanks Alex.

  • the nanci griffith version of this song is my favourite

    good job ken

  • I agree. Her phrase lengths work better. Dylan uses uneven phrases and I find that tricky to do.

  • That was great! I love Dylan

  • Thanks HH.

  • Great job Ken

  • Thanks.

  • Beautiful ! Isnt youtube great ? I have a question about playing, should the thumb always stay in that position ? I try to keep it that way, but its hard sometimes. maybe its because I have a soprano uke and need a bigger one ?

  • If you mean the left thumb, the answer is yes and no. The thumb should be relaxed and supporting the hand in the correct position. Ideally I think the thumb should be further back, behind the neck. I play the guitar and the guitar neck is much bigger.

  • Very nice Ken. Will the harmonica make it into any future videos?

  • I'm a bit of a purist, Deach. If a song can be done with just ukuleles, that's the way I do it. If it can be done with just one ukulele, even better.

But the real answer is probably "yes".

  • That's as well as i've ever heard the song played. Beautiful. Your voice really suits Dylan, Ken. 5*

  • Wow! Thank you for that comment.

  • i like this song much, you did it very well.

    a pleasure to listen!

  • Thank you.
