Bisous.
In those days, with the advent of space age,they were too conscious about their
group name with specific costume or The telstar to realize their sound and technique are pretty awsome evn in these days. I think country gentleman great CHet atkins and Les paul would have applaud them. Thanks for uploading.
it could be from '58 or '59. i bought it once from my small money when i was 11 or 12!! i liked it so much. Unfortunately the LP is gone with this awesome band... and there was no flop at all. For me >Amapola< was the best.
onlinelondon: They are still around AND playing !! There are 2 original members in tha band,Bo Winberg (lead guitar) and Bob Lander (rhytm guitar). I love them !!
Joe Meek managed or helped the band in his studio. But he didn't do so steadily. And they were from England. The Spotnicks were in fact from Sweden. I don't know about the present line up.
Love those costumes-on all the vids,these guys really had the spirit, were fun and really good,some great guitar work there. Man, bands of the day like these guys,the Ventures,the Tornados were really tight units!
It's great to see Bo Winberg play this live in a studio, I always thought that he played with fingerpicks due to the speed with which he played but no it is just a plectrum, a really exceptional piece of skill. They were the first group to use radio transmitters in their instruments ,hence no guitar leads so they could walk amongst the audience; in spacesuits no less. Does anyone remember a British guitarist called Judd Proctor from the 50's and 60's?
The blueprint for so many hardrock guitar heroes and their instrumentals...great twang sound...amazing picking techniques...superb

I love this guitar sound, is it from the 1960's? Just been listening to
downloads from the Shadows, this music is brilliant! why can't they start
playing music like this again, then we won't have to to listen to all this rap &
techno-dance drivel which is sooo boring!!!
Cee6th 1 year ago
@Cee6th
This sound was really popular from the late-1950s to the mid-1960s. Look up "surf rock" if you want more.
