I'm sorry, but I'm not self conscious enough about my acne scars (my scars are just a bunch of redness and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation on my cheeks and the scars are not indented) to get laser treatment done on them. I know there are pros with it obviously, but I've heard there are more cons than pros.
I have had laser resurfacing for acne scars, there was a scab and now it's gone, this is what it looks like now even since August 2010, nothing has helped it (Creames etc.) What can I do?????????? Please help and give me advice, thanks.

@XKillerKandiX Hi,You are very young to have bad acne scars. First consult a dermatologist and try to find a good therapist. I understand what you feel I was /am in the same situation. It's really bad especially for girls. I had my co2 laser treatment 2 days ago. Now I am healing, but hopefully it will be fine after the downtime. Be prepared and strong it is really trying. I could do with acne treatment. For years my face has been red and spotty in places from time to time and nothing seems to affect it. I've been on meds, tried different facial creams, diets (until I discovered the food I eat has no effect on my skin) and that hasn't had any effect at all. Now a couple of times in the past I developed a massive puss cavity in my right ear lobe, it swelled to the size of grape! Based on that how bad would you describe my acne.

I've had problems with acne since i was 16, now i'm 24 but the best period of my life was ruined because of this shit. Now i sometimes i get a pimple but it's the scrars that looks very ugly, it's no use, whatever people tell me i can never fell confortable with myself until i get rid of this problem. I had my first co2 fraxel laser today for pitted acne scarring. I had bad cystic acne and since then I have battled with dreaded scars that have been left behing. 1 thing to share here. I got pimples on my skin since 12-16 .Now Im 17 and there's no more pimples on my face. I think guys who have pimples on their skin shuldnt use all the extra stuff. Sometimes it might be even worst. For example, once i used moisturizer and my face is getting worst. You guys can try just use a cleanser which is for acne and not oily. Use warm water to rinse your face before u wash your face with cleanser . Then when u're done remember to rinse your face with COLD WATER.
I went on accutane- it was the best decision i've ever made in my entire life! I used to cry all the time and have low self esteem and my life has changed... i'm am happier, confident, and all my worries are gone, If you have severe acne, use accutane!

@Batman00Batman There's nothing to be scared of because you do get a blood test for the first months you are one it so they can monitor your liver and you will be taken off of it if anything changes, so the doctors are very careful about that

but u have to consider that you'r using lasers which concentrates light..the strength is obviously strong inorder to shoot off "old layers" and there's no side effects???
I got 3 treatments done and get an over all 50% improvement. You will never get anywhere near 70% improvement. So it's up to you if it's worth it or not.

@jazzsweet Hi there - I just wanted to let you know that I suffered from acne from the age of 23 - 38, quite a long time! The reason for my response is to let you know that you can get rid of it. Be assertive with your doctor & insist on treatment. If you're a guy & have very severe acne you should consider Roaccutane, together with topical retinol gel which is effective at getting rid of blackheads. If you're female, you should consider Dianette with topical retinol, these worked for me.

i've done this, not for acne (cuz i don't have acne :D) but for a red spot on my face(i don't know how to say it in english) and believe me .... it fucking hurts :(
it makes me depressed too, i only have 2 scars the first one happened i was already mad enough then a year later i got a second scar and that just made me fucking pissed i keep thinking about the day it happened trying to figure out how i could have stopped it and the most annoying part is that i could have stopped it right in my home, my mom has something called I FREQUENCY and what it does is get rid of cystic acne if i had used the device on my acne it would have never happened...
mine is mild/moderate. I'm tryingto find my own remedy right now, I'm not saying this will work, but I tried mixing baking soda with lemon juice as a mask once and it seems ok, not enough to see results yet I'll keep going and can update you. I'm also trying 1/5 100% apple cider vinegar mixed with 4/5 water as a cleanser in the morning and evening and hoping it'll work. In the past, baking soda mixed with water into a paste has worked for me. I just got lazy and stopped :( it helped reduce scars
@sparks199 ahh >.< I didn't follow up. Instead I did 1/2 apple cider vinegar (ACV) and 1/2 water for the acne on my back. It actually helps make the spots heal faster -- or mature faster anyway. Read about pH and acne I think you'll find it interesting. I just found out yesterday that baking soda is actually not ideal for your skin because it's too alkaline, and an alkaline condition of the skin can encourage bacterial growth and therefore more acne. Works with me as an exfoliator though. 2-3/w

I could do with acne treatment. For years my face has been red and spotty in places from time to time and nothing seems to affect it. I've been on meds, tried different facial creams, diets (until I discovered the food I eat has no effect on my skin) and that hasn't had any effect at all. Now a couple of times in the past I developed a massive puss cavity in my right ear lobe, it swelled to the size of grape! Based on that how bad would you describe my acne.

I've had problems with acne since i was 16, now i'm 24 but the best period of my life was ruined because of this shit. Now i sometimes i get a pimple but it's the scrars that looks very ugly, it's no use, whatever people tell me i can never fell confortable with myself until i get rid of this problem. Anyways i know it's not nice but the more you cry about the problem, the less you do about it, the best thing to do is get yourself treated, that's what i'm doing. Good luck to you all;)

Everytime i compare myself to my friends. i feel like corpse bride. a monster. i feel like people are feeling their skin and hoping they never go through the facial deformity that i have. and let me tell you. it hurts. i still suffer with social depression and its really hard to deal with the scarring. i feel like a monstrasity. but i know that this is my fate. hopefully bye going to south coast medspa i will no longer be a hidoues sponge looking face, and seen as a HUMAN.

1 thing to share here. I got pimples on my skin since 12-16 .Now Im 17 and there's no more pimples on my face. I think guys who have pimples on their skin shuldnt use all the extra stuff. Sometimes it might be even worst. For example, once i used moisturizer and my face is getting worst. You guys can try just use a cleanser which is for acne and not oily. Use warm water to rinse your face before u wash your face with cleanser . Then when u're done remember to rinse your face with COLD WATER.

@jazzsweet Hi there - I just wanted to let you know that I suffered from acne from the age of 23 - 38, quite a long time! The reason for my response is to let you know that you can get rid of it. Be assertive with your doctor & insist on treatment. If you're a guy & have very severe acne you should consider Roaccutane, together with topical retinol gel which is effective at getting rid of blackheads. If you're female, you should consider Dianette with topical retinol, these worked for me.

mine is mild/moderate. I'm tryingto find my own remedy right now, I'm not saying this will work, but I tried mixing baking soda with lemon juice as a mask once and it seems ok, not enough to see results yet I'll keep going and can update you. I'm also trying 1/5 100% apple cider vinegar mixed with 4/5 water as a cleanser in the morning and evening and hoping it'll work. In the past, baking soda mixed with water into a paste has worked for me. I just got lazy and stopped :( it helped reduce scars

@sparks199 ahh >.< I didn't follow up. Instead I did 1/2 apple cider vinegar (ACV) and 1/2 water for the acne on my back. It actually helps make the spots heal faster -- or mature faster anyway. Read about pH and acne I think you'll find it interesting. I just found out yesterday that baking soda is actually not ideal for your skin because it's too alkaline, and an alkaline condition of the skin can encourage bacterial growth and therefore more acne. Works with me as an exfoliator though. 2-3/w
