@nech9029 This is an absolutely wonderful film; I saw it when it was first released (my date and I then went for coffee at a Hungarian pastry shop!).

Szabo should have won an American Oscar for Best Foreign Film; he got it the next year for "Mephisto" which was terrible; I think he got the award the next year as a sop for not winning it for "Confidence" which is a true masterpiece.
