Caliburn, for the record, is just another name for Excalibur, an older name to the original Welsh name of the weapon. The Sword in the Stone is, generally, believed to be Clarent.
To me, Sabre Lily's white armor and possession of long womanly hair and Caliburn signify that she's the Nasuverse version White Knight - King Arthur when he was young, before he became King.
The White Knight would still possess Caliburn, wear white armor with no symbol, and in Arturia's case, could still be unquestionably feminine.
@AnimeNikkaJamal It could also represent Saber moving beyond who she was before. Or, perhaps, returning to a truer essence. Excalibur is, as far as names go, a younger name for her sword than Caliburn.
For me, Saber Lily is "version" of Saber, who didn´t breake Caliburn and so she never had Excalibur...Maybe its strange, but I like it that way...Saber Lily seems to be more elegant and more woman than Saber
@unknownakatsuki Actually, Caliburn only killed Berserker 7 times, Saber had to call out its name, after Berserker was softened down by Archer. I don't think Saber ever used a full-powered Excaliblast on Berserker, mostly due to the fact that she was low on prana in almost all of Fate. In Heaven's Feel, Saber Alter was tearing through the guy like tissue paper though, without ever actually calling out Excalibur.
Saber Lily doesn't really appear on any "canon" works... per say. I only know that she appears in Unlimited Code.
She is a complete monster with the right upgrades in new game+. A post-move field attack that is available from the start, 3x dmg spirit, and ability to attack twice. Add Len's spirit that allows a chrctr to move again and.... things die very fast.
Before getting upgrades, you can use Saber, since upgrades on Saber carry over to Lily.
@ComradeMagnum Well okay, it's a bit more complicated than that but...
I quote TV Tropes: "With the Perfect patch released by Werk, it got worse. Saber and Kohaku both receive playable Magical Girl forms - Saber Lily from Fate/Unlimited Codes and the infamous Magical Amber. "
At least for BMW Lily is Saber's magical girl form. There is no Word of God on exactly what she is, unfortunately.
Well not her origin, but its pretty much alternate Saber if she lived her life as a woman and kept the sword in the stone but was still remembered as a man throughout history.
Kinda like what would turn out to be Saber from Fate/Extra.
Both. The "remembered as a man" part was me and the origin of Saber/Extra (though she's Roman and just blond for no real reason, won't spoil her identity though), but in Unlimited Codes, Saber Lily has the Caliburn aka the sword in the stone.
Kinda like how Phantas Moon and Magical Kohaku (who Kitsune Caster from Fate/Extra is a dead ringer for) exists officially but only as concepts.
Technically, Saber Lily is a "reflection of the Kaleidoscope" of a world where Arturia was accepted a female King of the Britons and did not lose Caliburn.
This has zero effect on gameplay or her characterization in Fate/Unlimited Codes; much like unlocking Soul Edge in the Soul Calibur games doesn't do anything to the plot.
Best remix to a type moon song imo

@JupixCZ She didn't had to pose as a King so she kept her femininity, so to speak. She should be weaker too, but it doesn't seem that way.
Asiis 1 year ago
@JupixCZ More powerfull too
Though she loses Avalon, she has Caliburn
Who,btw,killed Berserker 9 times ^_^
Excalibur could only kill him 1 or 2 times :]
so yeah
Its purely Offense over Defense XD

@SenpaiSamaKun Fair enough. I don't know anything about Fate/Extra except it's a heavily modified take on HF, so I can't comment on that for now.
Geyrel 1 year ago
@Geyrel Fate/Extra is the Grail Way that Gil was summoned from :|
he is Zero Archer
Saber was also there
so she'd be Zero Saber..but also Saber cause she is the same in the 5th O__O
damn time Paradox ><
unknownakatsuki 11 months ago
@unknownakatsuki You're confusing Extra with Zero.
Extra takes place in an alternate timeline where technology prospered.
Nasu stated that the timelines split around the 80s or 90s.
Zero centers around the events of the 4th war which Gil was summoned in by Tokiomi,
which he later betrayed to join with Kirei.

Lily isn't worth to unlock, she can't hold with Saber, only Amber is worth it. But, music's still too awesome. Always loving the violin parts.
nighthawk3200 2 years ago
I dunno. It's kind of nice to be able to run around and do map attacks.
supersonic1453 2 years ago
On the contrary, it's worth it because Saber can attack twice in a row if you have enough energy to spare.
