That black guy is a freakin morron.. He needs to stop taking everything the wrong way.. No matter what happens he takes it the wron way because he is black.. Im Black btw, and i have dated white women and i find that they are the same just like black women; its really not much of a difference. To be honest
They aren't taking in account the fact that the cameras are there and I'm sure the people responding to the questions can see them so of course they aren't going to say anything "racist" while they are getting filmed XD
why do black people in America think that the whole world is against you?
In Africa, we went through the same hellish history of slavery and oppression, but we don't hold every single white person in the world racist, because not all are racist. There are assholes, sure, but not all. This woman who said "bitch" is not a racist. Neither is her daughter, the young one going to poetry class. The man, he is not racist but stupid and ignorant, thats another thing...
@LotN2 I agree entirely. Based on Brian's unforgiveable offense at 2:18 and his wife's at the b--ch word, there seems to be a harboring of hate that the blacks have, and it's frustrating when they take everything the wrong way, because the whites mean no offense. Could an internal oppression exist within one's own consciousness?
thats a reasonable suggestion.. i think theres a marraige of self-depreciation with the american spoiled mentality at work.. this society breeds instant gratification well.. blacks r not immune to this and at the same time many practice a variety of responses to what theyve experienced.. hatred towards self or others out of real anger.. its a complicated issue but only through dialog can we understand and correct it..
@chyorneycat I'm Black and I can tell that the Black women was being an ass about the whole situation when the White women said yo bitch. Because the White women didn't get mad when the Black women was saying hey hun as if she was White they both laughed about it. When she got home that Black women was acting like a bitch about and totally took it the wrong way.
@chyorneycat You don't understand. I'm trying to educate my people (blacks) to not give in to bitterness. I don't back what the white woman did, I condemn it!
That typical for white people to throw stupid shit out of their mouths and then say "i dont mean it". We black people are artful communicators, we hold you responsible to your words. You dont talk whatever you want and make excuses when you miss, no, no, no.
imho because black folk in america r not immune to the arrogant selfishness breed in the states.. but i wouldnt go so far as saying the same hellish history exists.. the history brought out by living amongst hatred is different.. check out my bamboozled vid for a brief intro.. its too easy to oversimplify and say they r not racist.. but what is racism? is it merely to think ur race better than? there is another perspective.. check my vid on dr welsing for that..
@LotN2 Mostlikely becuz there are way more black people in Africa then there are whites. Blacks are the Majority in Africa in America blacks are the minority. So its different after the oppression.
@LotN2 We don't think the whole world is against us. We don't even think all white people are against us. But we do have to deal with racism and discrimination growing up, where we'll receive certain looks or whatsohaveyou, and we can recognize that negativity. Sometimes racism is unconscious and they don't even know they're doing it, but it's in their body language. It's an issue of nurturing, too; stereotypes BOTH races are presented with, not just us (or them) creating problems for ourselves.
@kiwiyaku Yes, well you and I don't live on different planets. What you face in America is what we face in Europe too.
But if you go with a hostile defencive-kind of "dont-get-close-to-me" approach, you'll have difficulty in communicating with your brothers in Africa, you will turn people away from you who otherwise would come close to you, just like a magnet repells another magnet if plus against plus.
@LotN2 Oh, I don't have that approach myself. Honestly most of my friends are white. I didn't mean that I condemn whites or that I'm ridiculously bitter like that husband, just that I can understand how SOME people might get like that. I'm totally with you for the most part, I just didn't agree that "blacks in America think the whole world is against them". It's the same here as anywhere else, CERTAIN people think that because of their circumstances. Not all.
@kiwiyaku black Americans are like that. They themselves say it.
That's why they can't get along with other people in the world, nor can they get along with themselves - constantly arguing. All those black TV shows, all you see is arguing, arguing. In Youtube, they argue, argue. When I was in Minnesota, same thing - arguing, arguing.
Maybe not you personally, but your people need to drop that attitude. It's not 1 single bit African, I'm from Africa, people HATE arguing down there they want love
@LotN2 Unfortunately, yes, there is a large portion of blacks in America who act like that. I agree on that. It's one of the reasons I only have a few black friends - because there's so few of them that actually have acceptable attitudes where I live. But they're still not ALL like that. Just... a lot of them are. D:
And a lot of us aren't in touch with our actual culture from Africa. I sometimes wish we were; we probably wouldn't have so many social issues if we did.
@LotN2 I wish I did so that I could, but I don't really know anything about it. I plan on studying it in college, though. I might never know -exactly- where I come from even if I study it, but at least I'll get some idea of what my ancestors might have been like, or the values they may have believed in.
bruno tries so hard to prove racism doesn't exist and yet he comes off as such an ignorant racist person, with all these oppinions andassumptions of how black people are, he's extremely blind and just point blank annoying.
I don't think Bruno was being racist at all. He seemed to be fairly irritated by Brian's insistance that every little thing he saw had undercurrents of racism so he just wanted to just throw out some black stereotypes right away to prove that not all white people reiterate them. I think people are taking that completely the wrong way.
bruno is a bit ignorant, i dont know if i like brians wife, i like rose, and the son kinda pisses me off, i think bruno's wife is sweet. Bruno is asking stupid gun shot questions,
racism is gay, plenty my boys black, go to Iraq and get shot at, tell me white and black matters after that when you have to trust people of all races for your survival, we all bleed red
It's like, by trying to prove that the other white people aren't racist, he was showing how he felt about black people (well his ignorance about black people). All of his questions were centered around stereotypes. It's ridiculous. He seems to be more racist than the people he's trying to prove aren't
The black family is right, bruno was rude at the bar. What white person acts like that and just comes out race questions. The whites that he were asking were probably like this guy is strange anyway, and did not tell him the truth.
I was thinking the same thing. They were probably like "WTF is he asking me these questions?"
All of his questions were closed ended. It was clear that he was looking for a certain answer. It was clear to everyone, including the people who the questions were directed to.
I'm telling you, Atlanta & LA are so different racially..
the west coast is just about most racially open minded area of the country, whereas Atlanta, where the black guy is from is in the most racist part of the country
but I'm sure the close mindedness doesn't compare with that of Atlanta.
I'm not really going to fault any of these people because they grew up in two different parts of the country and it seems like they all have a difficult time understanding each other.
honestly...what person would admit any kind of racism on television? with a camera in your face, theres an added factor there...not all the people at the bar might have been saying what they truly felt.
good question.. did u no the dvd came out? y arent shows continued? i think this show generated so much thought when it aired that it made sense that there were no follow-up seasons. does america really want to explore these topics on race? we shall see..
do u think bruno is really as closed minded as suggested? certainly u cant let circumstance tell you how to live ur life, but how do u expose the subtle racism?

I think its NOT that the white family has no class, they just need to work on their social skills, alot. moreso the wife.
and the black family (moreso the wife) needs to learn to understand the whites's lack of social skills, and not assume it's racism.
the white daughter is ok though and the black son....from what i've seen they dont show much of him.
