"The Orlando Magic are believers, too... Just like Utah, Phoenix, and San Antonio"... And the rest of us.. Without doubt, the most brilliant, and logic defying playoff run in the history of professional sports.. They won 5 elimination games, and 7 straight road games.. Unbelievable..
yo xtalman, I m trying to improve my vertical jump by doing the training routine over at 50inch vertical[dot]com - and so far got like past 8-9 inches so far but I'm only a bit off from dunking on the rim It is still my second week so far, any advices?
#VIDEOPOSTERID# I am just a 5'8 black dude and I can easily dunk on 11 foot rims. Anyone can certainly do it, just follow the right training course. I personally followed the one at (50 inch vertical [dot] com) but just about any training program is fine as long as they work which many do not
#VIDEOPOSTERID# I mean if I, have the ability to dunk, then anyone can. I am only five'seven no lie! Basically follow a real course like the one at 50 inch vertical (dot) com, it will expand your jump/rebounding and your first step in basketball.
LOL.. I love these guys, and their revisionist BS... The Rockets could beat you in about 20 different ways, and Jordan should thank the Gods every day that his legacy didn't get scarred by that team..
I was there.. No frills, no flash... No pregame hype... They just would run you out of the gym..
@eppeone The Bulls won 72 games the next year, and the Sonics swept the Rockets....the Rockets are fortunate the Sonics laid down and died to shitty teams in the first round, or else they would have been going for three straight by the time they met the Bulls in the Finals in 96.'
LMAO... The Rockets won 11 elimination games in a row, and 8 games in a row on the road, which, at the time, was a record in the playoffs...
Plus, smart guy, the Bulls acquired Dennis Rodman that year, which of course improved their team, tremendously.. Rodman was with San Antonio from 93-95..
I feel pretty comfortable saying the Rockets beat the Bulls at least once, if not both years (I think the 93-94 Rockets team wins pretty handily, actually)..
Nah man the Bull would have won in 95. Especially after they acquired Clyde Drexler. If the bulls could almost beat the Knicks in the conference finals without MJ. Then with MJ they would have taken it to Houston. I see the Bulls winning in 94 but 95 is all houston.
@GoingOn9Lives Remember, Houston in 94 had the Cryptonite to Jordan's Superman in Vernon Maxwell. Mad Max was the only one with the possible exception of Ron Harper that rutinely gave MJ fitts. The Rockets beat the Bulls five out of six games from 1991-93. But MJ had no problem with Drexler in the 92 finals so I would say the Bulls with MJ would have had a better chance in 95 than 94 vs the Rockets.
@kenbron The Sonics were the best team of the 90s not named the Bulls; but they underachieved....Nobody wants an inside out game of Payton/Kemp posting up, and Shrempf, Perkins, Hawkins, whoever spotting up from outside...on defense, the team wasfast and aggressive. A nightmare for opponents, and a tragedy bc they couldn't quite get it all to work
well, Rocket's didn't exactly fade, they were still good ... they lost in the conference final to the Jazz. But even Jordan and Pippen admitted that they had trouble against the Rockets because of their interior game.
Plus, a mediocre season for the Rockets now is having home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Whereas the bulls ???
Intro like this (along with other great NBA on NBC intros) kinda tells you why the NBA was at its peak during the 90s, they just knew how to hype up a series or a game and give you goosebumps
In my personal opinion the ROCKETS run in the 1995 playoffs was the funnest to watch, because they played the 4 of the best teams in the league that year, so they didn't take an shortcuts to their title. Plus HAKEEM was in the zone that year he made SHAQ and the ADMIRAL look like school boys on the court.
NBA on NBC defined sports entertainment. Ever since it ended, basketball has NEVER been the same. Although, I'm a big fan of NFL on FOX, so I dunno if I agree w/ u there about football....
The 1995 Houston Rockets championship team pulled off what no other champions in NBA history has ever done -- Beat four teams averaging 60 wins en route to the NBA Title. Utah (60-22), Phoenix (59-23), San Antonio (62-20), and Orlando (57-25) had the four best records in the league that year, and Chicago even had Air Mike back, yet my Houston Rockets stood on top of everyone and no one will ever take that away from us! We made history.
ok, I've only begun to make "favorites" tonight, and I hope not to do it this much (only 2 so far)...because "favorties" should truly be reserved for "favorites" and the first two favorites that I made probably weren't worthy of being "favorites"...but I can't do anything about it now. No, this 1995 team was the BEST...don't care how much the media tries to knock them.
I'm a lifer Rockets fan. No, I don't blame you one bit. Any underdog in the hole can look at this intro and get inspired by it. This is not only a lesson of how a team overcame improbable odds to win a repeat title, but of what can happen once a team starts to believe in itself.
Truly one of the great underdog stories of all time. Even Karl Malone said a couple years later that he was scared of those Rockets teams.
maaaaan, NBA ON NBC RUUUUULES! i agree, basketball died after this season. I don't care what ANYONE thinks, Hakeem is the greatest EVER. We would've beaten the bulls if they faced us either the 1995 or the 1994 season and laid to rest the mj hype. I know he couldn't have beaten hakeem, "Clutch City" and NBA on NBC - marv albert, matt gougas, and bob costas...as far as i'm considered are still alive.
that's why I still get angry at John "Mr. Flying Elbow" Stockton when he hit that shot in 97. I wanted a shot at those Bulls...I truly believe we could have won.
man this brings back the memories. I remember crying my eyes out when orlando was buried for good. i was in 3rd grade and this was my life lol.
nba has never been the same since nbc stopped broadcasting, just watch this video.. by the time the nba on nbc song started i was jumping around pumped the hell up for this game just from this intro haha. long live nba on nbc

4 in a row in the finals. The last team to do it was the Rockets. Next the 76rs in the 80's. Give the Rockets some props. The best team of the 90's!

The last time was actually San Antonio sweeping the Cavs in the 2007 in the Finals. Prior to that, the Lakers did that to the Nets in 2002.
