Yes they can grow in a disposal. When I moved into my new home, I found the disposal full of live bean sprouts.

Whoa, thanks for the warning. We don't have a disposal, but I still don't want sprouts invading the kitchen from the sink. You should write a book akin to "George and the Giant Peach".

Call it "Chester and the Sprout Monster".
