Brother Troy; this is Brother Terry Sirmans from GA. Hope that you can come to the Holiness Baptist Camp Meeting in Dougls, GA this year. July 23rd is the first night. Speakers are Brother Gene Luke and Bro. Daniel Dean.
@sirm45 Thank you Brother Terry for letting us know. We were wondering when the campmeeting was this year. If we get a chance, we might sneak down for a night or two.
@pseudorachel I'm a Church of Godite only from Northern Ireland... Nothing beats the old music.. got a hammond C3 and a nice real piano.. Sometimes I'm very privileged to be allowed to play for the congregation...
@OldLineHoliness aww yea... We do them all, all the old ones too.. When I am playing they start singing things and I have to fill in what I can. Some of them are ones that haven't been sung since before I was born!! LOL I have a real good time learning on the spot..!!!!
@aj24a Do the Church of God folks in Ireland have church like we do here in South Carolina. Do they shout and run the ilse? Do women shout their hair down or do they have enought hair to shout down?....lol!! Are bobby pins welcome in Ireland Pentecostal Churches?
@troy1387 Well we would be a very happy clappy church haha... Some of the older generation would shout and gowl.. :/ As for the hair bit I don't understand what you mean... And I'm sure bobby pins would be welcome lol!!
@aj24a Bobby pins were used by the old Church of God women to keep that long glory (hair) on top of their heads. When they would get happy and start shouting, their bobby pins would come flying out of their hair buns and their glory would come cascading down! That still happens around here. There are still a few old fashioned Church of Gods left in the southeastern US. I'm thankful that my wife and daughters still use them (bobby pins)!

This takes me back to my childhood. NOTHING in this world sweeter than the sound of good ole Church of God piano and Hammond organ. :)

@aj24a WOW, I didn't know the COG had any good music left in its churches in Europe! Especially in the UK! Glad to hear it!

@aj24a I guess thats what the COG is all about... The ridiculous key change signals and change of choruses one into another.
