Yes, it's all fun and games until you "column, half-left, march" in front of the Supe's house onto the Apron...of course, disembarking in Iraq or Afghanistan isn't much fun either. The mental foreboding is eerily similar. Enjoy.
Our son was in a class that graduated USMA recently. I did not have a chance to witness their marchback some years ago. This was a real treat and brought tears to my eyes. Congratulations to all cadets joining the Long Gray Line.

12 miles isnt bad. ithe furthest ruck march i've went on is 23 miles in a day

I give you your props for doing 23 miles. However, just because you did it does not make 12 miles any easier. I can do 23 miles as well.
