A 35R Isnt really that laggy for a 2.5L, when your motor revs to over 9k it really doesnt matter.

There are two tracks less than 45 minutes from my home. I still plan on tracking the car.

I got bored of the neutral understeer feel of the car though and sold it.

Well...

From what I've seen the vq35 responds best to boost. Unfortunately, that response isn't too great... 400 to the wheels after a roots blower (atleast $5k) is sort of weak IMO. On top of that, they aren't too light and their suspension could be a bit more sorted out (nothing you couldn't change).

I hate to throw this car out there, but the toyota supra is probably in the same league and still better. The issue for that is justifying 25+k for something made in 95 with 100k miles...

But I dread any major repairs and I keep hearing about RMS failuires... yikes.

The MR2's chassis and powertrain isn't up to par with the other mid engine cars (NSX, cayman, boxster, etc.).

The NSX is great, but I have yet to see a clean one within 200 miles for under 45k...

911 Turbo 996 is where its at. Clean low mileage can be had for 40k right now. Best year would be 2003.

@97NeonRT Porsche is great but way overpriced. You can buy a nice 2003 CL55 AMG with little over 100k miles for $15k and you'll get a 493HP, 200mph car. Just a few years ago we couldn't buy that kinda power in a $80,000 Viper.

actually all AMG's are also limited to 155, I found out my cls55 was sadly. but there is an option called the 030 package from MBUSA which costs about 9 grand which removes the 155 limiter and replaces it at 186 and increases the brake size and suspension, however the speed limiter isn't always exact, sometimes it allows you to go a few over 155, my cls allowed me to go 159.

im happy to say thanks to renntech I have no limiter now :)

Actually european spec is limited to 155mph too. The reason it was introduced was partially to appease the German government.
