  • Absolutely fascinating of how Orbiter developed into what it became. i.e. when 3 of his friends built a RC model of 747 carrying an orbiter, this demo made Aaron decide 747 carrier aircraft and no jet engines on orbiter.

When Astronaut Office couldn't decide on cockpit layout, Aaron said, "If you don't provide one in 2 weeks, I will!" That scared the astronauts so they provided a layout (Aaron admits he knows nothing of cockpit layouts).

Aaron stresses to class, "know your requirements!"

  • MIT open courseware is an incredibly generous, altruistic educational gesture. I am so thankful for these professors who've dedicated their lives to understanding and contributing to a body of knowledge that has undeniably improved the quality of all our lives. And to MIT, a thousand thank you's for freely sharing your greatest assets with the world...slides or no slides.

  • vid to long

  • @michchap thanks!

  • For those of you complaining about slides, you should be thankful that you did not obtain your college degrees before the Personal Computer and the .com revolution.

You are truly hilarious people. Did NASA have "slides" when President Kennedy tasked them to landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely back to earth. I mean - come on guys - get real! Slides?

Really? I mean, really??? You can't be serious, can you?

    REALLY?

  • @TigerGrumman Besides, the slides are on the website. :P

  • Thank you for coming up with engineering related videos. I hope we can grow more relevant and educational alternative engineering videos online.

  • rip prof. aaron cohen (january 5, 1931 – february 25, 2010)

  • no slides and i wasn't even listening anyway

  • I cannot believe this is free. Normally I watch stupid cat videos on YouTube but the wealth of knowledge that is available is astounding. Thanks MIT.

  • @GLeNss search the itunes store for itunes U and you can get full courses from yale and mit right on your ipod

  • that short fast-talking man with glasses interferes with the tall guy's explanations in an annoying way

  • why going to university here is

  • when does the math and physics come into play

  • he looks like one of my professors here in Serbia

    :)

    good work!

  • lectures without slides' showing are inadequate...

  • show we the slides please ... am from russia, and i wanna see!

  • It can be better if you download the lecture notes from the course page and put it with the video side to side and follow up.

  • it can be better if we can see what he's showing and not him

  • A lot of their slides are in PDF format under the Lecture Notes section at the link provided in the description.

  • Only 2 comments here. Why? People even don't care about commenting, after beeing insulted by the video: The camera never shows what the guy talks about.

Couldn't care less if _that_ "lecture" was deleted ...

  • It is a free lecture. If you don't like it, can't appreciate it for what they are doing, and you can't realize that they offer all their material through their site to encourage you to go there, you should probably go watch something else.

You are the kind of trash talker that doesn't contribute anything. Couldn't care less if your "account" was deleted.

  • I mean did you take the time to go to the link in the description? Their website has PDF files of all the slides. You can print them out and or go through them as you listen. Do your research before you start crying.

  • Thank you for posting these open course ware lecture videos. I sometimes listen to them on my iPod too.

  • @michchap how to you convert them into audio files that can be stored in the iPod?

  • @GTaiwan The entire course is available for download on iTunes. Just search for the course name and/or number. I have enjoyed listening to them.
