im checking out xxl top 10 freshman and im not impressed by this one. not saying he doesnt have skills but his sound is way too familiar. Of course everyone is going to jump to Eminem comparison which isnt way off, but his sound and delivery is just like Jin aka Jin the Emcee. He also sounds like an artist called KJ-52. Another comparison is a guy called Benefit. Hes fine as far as delivery, lyrics, etc, but hes nothing more than an OC version of a style ive already heard

I think you're wrong! It is totally allowed to spit written rhymes in a freestyle battle as long as long as it ain't been heard before! You can check masta ace's history. that was his biggest regret...tryin to spit top of tha dome when his opponent had it all planned out and ready.....he got destroyed in that battle!

ok then if his opponent tried to come off the top? would he still have destroyed him? whats the point of spittin a verse in a battle if it doesnt apply to your opponent since you could use it verse anyone in a battle? nowadays writtens are used in freestyle battles, but thats lazy and less talented. Being able to freestyle with lyrical content and flow it sick. You wanna write somethin, then make a song. But dont call it a freestyle if you cant go off the top

Oh! I happen to be a rapper! Freestyle written raps can sometimes sound so off the top depending on how you spit em'! say lines sluggishly like you're thinking of the next line.....lines that apply generally to anyone... mixed with 2 or 4 off the top, makes everything so convincing!
anyway, my point was that it's allowed! whether it's respected or not is another story! just a few rappers really spit "completly" off the top anyway! In a battle! thats why their hboys can bakup the punchlines!

I agree with the ability to mix. that takes more skill than to just spit 16 written. i know its allowed, that unavoidable, but too me, watchin a "freestyle battle" with all writtens is pointless. why have them face eachother since they arent actually saying anything specific about their apponent. might as well just hear them individually. if your solo and rap on the spot and spit a written, thats type of freestyle and cool wit me. battles are different
