  • I'm casting a spell right now to put that minister in a fatal car accident... anybody got the keys to an old Ford Pinto?

  • @DrakillT What if my face is young and has no wrinkles? Are they able to see where the muscle on the face is thickest? Where might one learn these skills?

  • If you fall for shit like fortune telling or religion, then you deserve everything bad that happens to you as a result of it.

  • @AllOtherNamesTaken2 Some people just don't know how to think critically. Many people have had critical thinking literally beaten out of them in their childhood. So, I'm not sure if I'd be that cold toward gullible people. But I can definitely see your point too.

  • @AllOtherNamesTaken2 Problem is, people often get encapsulated in bullshit and raised in it. The ones I think who deserve a who deserve everything bad are those who know better, but still promote nonsense.

  • Thinking IS hard.

  • @Lordes Yeah, no sorry i did, i didn't read correctly. thnx man.

  • @Lordes How so? Sorry i just watched it and they both sound quite rational

  • Awesome video!!

  • Matt is right: fortune tellers should be run out of town -- but for being charlatains and for emotional harm. NOT because their witches. NOT because people are even MORE superstitious and ridiculous than the fortune teller themselves. No one should have to go through that sort of bigotry and fear. Bringing up logic and science against her is one thing, but using faith to combat superstition.... Witchcraft... frig... that guy needs to go to a meeting of the Wiccan Church of Canada xD Epic.

  • my point is.....bald

  • I'm so glad I live in Canada. We don't have retards like that (or retards who follow them)... We're also low on pitchforks and torches.

Aren't you people ashamed to have witch-hunters in your country?... In the 21st Century?!?

  • @Unicron4ever Where would "your country" be?

  • @TheStig000 ... Canada... Witch-hunter Free since 1902.

  • @Unicron4ever Lawl, I wonder when witch hunting "officially" ended in the US.

  • @TheStig000 ...The Vid says it's still happening. You might wanna try to do something about it... I mean, it's like having a giant zit right on top of your nose, pretty embarassing...

  • @Unicron4ever They weren't talking about the US, dude.

  • @TheStig000 ...My mistake!

I thought I heard it happened in Wasilla (AK)... Sorry... That was so weird and shocking to hear...

  • @Unicron4ever Too cold for witches up there! You should know, Canadian.

  • @Unicron4ever god bless you

  • @cusack171 ... don't say that... I only accept that statement when sneezing...

  • @Unicron4ever let me know when you do, lol

  • @Unicron4ever We know the cause of sickness isn't demons now though. So why accept it after a sneeze?

  • @TheStig000

Because, in that context, it's just an expression. The same goes for "God dammit", "holy sh*t", "Mother Mercy", "Thank heaven" and the like.

I mean, let's not go nuts...

  • @Unicron4ever Just saying. It's a little silly.

  • @cusack171 AAAND LET THE LORD BLESS YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN AND YOUR CHILDRENS CHILDREN AND YOUR ABORTED BABY SISTERS BROTHER AND EVERYONE DEAD IN YOUR FAMILY FOR GENERATIONS IN THE PAST UNTL CHRIST WAS BORN!!! OOOHHH LORRRDD HAAAVVE MEERCY ON THE ATTHHEIISTT SSSOOUUULLLLLLLLLLLLLLlllee. fuck you.

  • @xomiakas You know how insane you look when you do that? Why don't you try bringing an argument instead of just shouting? Nobody here will be convinced by all caps nonsense.

  • @TheStig000 Do you know how insane you are when you believe in what you say in those capital letters? It doesn't matter what you say in the name of god - it's all equally insane because it supports the same purpose - keeping people brainwashed(making them believe in imaginary people), creating a false sense of 'divine' power and blocking any rational ideas that reach the preachers ear. You're full of shit, whereas I just gave you an example of how any of your ideas(shouted or not) seem to me.

  • @xomiakas What are you talking about?

  • @TheStig000 OOOk so I don't know why and how but SOMEHOW I got the idea that u were a believer. I was mistaking. All that I've said goes to every theist.

  • If Sarah Palin really is convinced that prayers helped her become the gpovernour of Alaska, americans should tell her "The second you persuade us to believe that, we will charge you of homeland treason for undemocratizing our election, because God is not an american citizen, and he does not have a vote."

He has a point about the fortune telling: If a fortune teller always told the future right, I'd first thing start to see if she had some sort of involvement in causing the events...

  • @David1531992 Shows you just how little people think. It also shows you just how stupid the idea of voting is.

  • Matt makes a point I've frequently made that superstition is built on lazy, simple, small answers, that I would posit leads to the development of lazy, small minds.

  • i wonder if she went to hogwarts, or if she went to an american wizzard school.

  • @valu777 What are you trying to say? You make no sense.

  • @TheStig000 satan has sown evil unclean spirits into the world these spirits look for bodys to dwell inside , they then try and possess that person with v airing degrees of sucesss , jesus died to stop this and free people from this ,

  • @valu777 How do you know that these spirits exist?

  • @TheStig000 personal experience i have seen them with my own eyes

  • @valu777 I have never seen them, so why should I believe you?

  • @TheStig000 well you can catch them out , they will give you thoughts that are not your own and make you do what you dont want to do

  • @valu777 How do you tell if a thought is not from your own brain?

  • @TheStig000 it is a thought that is not what you would normally think, where you are a bit suprised by that thought , like where did that come from ? an out of the blue thought

  • @valu777 Is there any way to prove that the thought is not yours? If so, is there any way to prove where the thought could have come from? Is there any way to prove that thoughts can be injected into your consciousness?

  • @TheStig000 thoughts can be injected into you , i caught a demon out doing just this , the demon was cast out in the name of Jesus

we must filter all our thoughts through Gods word as we cannot trust our own thoughts We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

Jeremiah 17:9 "The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is?

  • @valu777 Well I asked how you can prove that thoughts can be injected into your consciousness. You haven't really answered that.

  • @TheStig000 see people are cast into hell because of an attitude that you are demonstrating , are you calling me a liar , i caught a demon injection thoughts into my head , (now that is evidence)

see life and death are before you , your choice has impact for you and will provide you no excuse on the day of judgement

  • @valu777 I have a couple problems with that comment. 1) If people are cast into hell for having an attitude, how just is God? 2) I never called you a liar. I simply asked for evidence. If you cannot provide evidence, then you may be a liar. 3) If you "caught" this demon, then where is the evidence? Saying that you caught a demon is not evidence.

  • @TheStig000 I am afraid it is not always a good idea to take "as gospel" the comments of some of the fruit loops claiming to be Christians. Unfortunately there is a whole load of UNsound, inaccurate and counterproductive teaching going on in some churches and these views do NOT represent what the Bible actually teaches. The truth is, we all have the gift of free will and choice, and those who blame it all on the devil are immature and superstitious.

  • @valu777 Also, you still haven't told me how you can tell the difference between demon injected thoughts and your own thoughts. What is the difference?

  • @valu777 I'm really starting to believe that "christians" will be the ones who go to hell since they are so enamored with it, wish it on others and give it so much power. Do not bother to respond. I will neither read nor respond..........

  • @richwfd2002 Agree'd brah, just laugh it off with that little voice inside knowing the only place they're going is six feet under.

  • Ok, Perhaps the fortune teller taught she was going to be lynched by an angry mob that rendezvous on the store basement and she fled for her life. Faith and prayers had nothing to do with it.

    P.S. Greetings and Salutations.

  • @Exsecrabilis Can you explain what you're arguing in simpler terms? I'm not sure I understand what you are saying.

  • @TheStig000:

Sorry I was just mentioning self-preservation; that perhaps the fortune teller matt mention on this vid probably got scared that an angry mob was gathering in the store basement.and plot to lynch her so she fled the scene. Now the religious folks who were praying thought that their prayers were anwsered when prayers had nothing to do with her fleeing.

    P.S. Greetings and Salutations. .

  • @Exsecrabilis Possibly, but the religious claimed that bad things were happening because of her.

  • @TheStig000

Understandable, albeit how much of those claims are really true? That much has brought up my curiosity. If accidents have happened on that same spot, there must be a factor that is causing those accidents such as lacking street lights or street signs or perhaps people don't really pay attention to the light or street signs alike. I have seen drivers talking on phone or texting while driving, maybe that could be a factor too in that area.

    P.S. Greetings and Salutations.

  • I encourage every American who is rational and values freedom to look up and read about Christian Dominionism and Reconstruction. If the door to political control were opened wide for religion, the US would become a Christian version of Iran. Christianity would soon take on the most repellent features we find in Islam. All we need do is look back at how it was before the west became secular politically. Witch burnings, inquisition, repression, intellectual torpidity and cultural stagnation.

  • @DandAinTac Every religion has the same potential for destruction it seems. When you found your beliefs on nonsense, anything goes.

  • @TheStig000 Every religion? That's an over generalisation. I just don't see Buddhism or Hinduism anywhere near as destructive, potential or realised, as the Abrahamic religions; if anything they're worlds apart.

  • @Direkin What do you base that opinion on? What do you think about the caste system in Hinduism?

  • @Direkin They are destructive but in a different way. Braham caste system, Chinese Emperor both massively benifitted from those religions because they absolutely DESTROY the individual. At any rate, violence exists by human nature NOT religion! MATCHING QUIZ: 1. Do Hindus fight Muslims? 2. How monocultred is China? 3. Weren't there WARLORDS for aeons there before? a) Yes. b) Very. c) There were.

  • @TheStig000 I'm not sure I agree that all religions are EQUALLY bad. Jainism for example, is completely pacifistic. I would agree they are all bad in that they are founded on unprovable tenants that must be taken on "faith"--otherwise it's not a religion, and I think anytime you take as your world view a set of mystical precepts, you are asking for trouble of some sort.

  • @DandAinTac The point I'm trying to make is that if you found your beliefs on nonsense, they can be twisted into anything you want.

  • @DandAinTac Jainism is peaceful, but then that allows for holier-than-thou-ism. I don't step on ants. You eat fish. Give me "offerings" and I'll help you into Heaven. See what I mean?

  • @misterginsberg Ginsberg, I think we are probably mostly in agreement. I didn't intend to imply that just because Jainism was peaceful, that it is therefore good, true or even harmless. I am in total agreement with those who say religion is easily twisted, and that when you found your beliefs on nonsense, that it leads to bad things. My only point is that some religions are worse than others. They are all bad, I just don't agree that they are all EQUALLY bad.

  • @DandAinTac

Agreed. The monotheistic religions tend to be the worst, though when your religion is based on a dictator who makes all the rules (which just incidentally happen to be the kind of primitive rubbish one could come up with 2 millenia ago) it is really no wonder that they are.

Buddhism is the only religion I have any respect for (albeit I don't know much about Hinduism), and even then only for its philosophical aspects.

  • @Vire70 In Carl Sagan's bio, I read about how he had the Dalai Lama as his guest once, and Sagan asked him straight: "What if science were to conclusively prove a central tenant of Buddhism wrong?" The Dalai Lama's answer: "Then Tibetan Buddhism would have to change." All one has to do is look at the uproar, resistance, denial, and disinformation campaign in response to the science of Evolutionary Biology to know that such an honest and rational answer is not forthcoming from most Christians.

  • It`s truly amazing how people can believe whatever superstition out there and gang up on other people because of it. Luckily in the first world there are laws against this type of shit. But I guess in some backwater african village it`s not so easy. Of course christians would LOVE if they could transform the west into that.

  • Palin isnt qualified to run a kool aid stand.

  • @MrJohnnyrace She's too afraid of black people to run a kool aid stand.

  • @TheStig000 Oh, OK When I was a ten year old We had a Kool Aid stand. She is just a quack. She had an Exorcism against witchcraft done on her in her church. What does that tell you. She a nut case.

  • @MrJohnnyrace She can't run fucking Alaska, why do people think she can run the whole US?

  • @TheStig000 I totally agree. If things got too much for her, shed bail out. She is a mental breakdown looking for a place to happen. The girl isnt right. She needs professional help.

  • Palins a creatard. That says it all. She is brain dead.

  • This is not surprising, coming from such a backward continent.

  • Palin is brain dead. She had an exorcism done on her. Its right on You Tube. Palins Exorcism. NOW, Why in hell would anyone want this moron in any office. Maybe the Post Office at best.

  • @MrJohnnyrace

Which is interesting, considering the utter contempt that she seems to have for people not of her religion.

  • Is she made of wood?

  • This story is Fucked up. What a town of inbred hicks

  • Thats a different sales pitch, sounds as stupid as sheria law. Behead the witch !!

  • Does she weigh the same as a duck?

  • Why Yes !!! Have you seen her?? A Duck ?

  • He'd probably look down on someone like me as being a total loser and just as patheic as most of the really stupid idiot christian callers they get. Do you now get what I mean?

  • I doubt it. At least you admit you have a problem. Christians can't even do that.

  • Excellent point Matt brings up. Sadly I know it would apply to me too, not because I believe in any of that stuff, but because I'm a drug addict. I was a drug addict long before becoming an Atheist. I used to be a Christian drug addict too, at one time, so christians don't even start with " see this is what Atheism does to people", thats total bullshit. Hopefully one day I'll get off my lazy ass and do something about it instead of escaping reality through drug use.

  • Which point would apply to you?

  • The point when Matt said people are lazy an look to things like astrology t guie them through the day. He said people are LAZY and want to escape realty. If you're usuing drugs to escape reality then you're no better then the people who do believe in such nonsense.etc., An Matt clearly poined out in another video, jst beause someone is an Atheist doesnt always make them rational or critical thinkers. I do think hard about stuff, thats why I don't believe, but I'm still an addict.

  • @MyCatMischief, if I weren't an atheist too, I'd pray for you :)

Some of us are just not blessed (if you'll forgive the word) with the drive to get up, get out and get it, so to speak. I'm not either.

  • I like astrology and reading the tarot. I use them as a tool to meditate on the issues at hand and figure out what is going on. I don't base decisions on them, it's just a way for me to sit down and consider what is going on and really analyze it. I think that any real power it has is in that, and a kind of psychological balm.

  • Nothing wrong with that. I have a problem with people who claim that it has supernatural powers that's all.

  • Some say he only knows two facts about ducks and there both wrong, and he once had full sex with Russel Brands answering machine. All we know is hes called THE STIG

  • Some say I have a full size tattoo of my face, on my face.

  • This is sick. Witch hunts make me feel sick.

  • lolz

  • Whoa! Capital letters, I'm convinved...

  • AH. ALL CAPITALS. THAT MAKES EVERY ARGUMENT WIN!

    Er, not.

  • life noob

  • At least they didn't stone the woman to death, as per what the scriptures say they should do.

  • lol and don't forget that they should burn down her house as well!

  • While Astrology taken seriously in the news may be disgraceful to journalism and fortune telling may be at best borderline fraudulent, these two are strangely silent in this clip over the most obvious problem with this African minister's actions: scapegoating. Gathering the villagers together in religious protest over a single individual may be tolerable if misguided, but the minister's ultimatum of exile is not. Some communities still live by Medieval-like thinking and customs.

  • Yeah, you can find them scattered around the US...

  • I know it wouldn't be helpful in any way, but sometimes you just want to scream at religious people 'What the fuck is wrong with you people?!"

  • With or without the beating them on the head with a stick?

  • Whichever you prefer.

  • this should be on cable television.

  • I agree. It's a good show with meaningful content. Unlike most TV.

  • seriously. im sick of asses like glenn beck and bill o getting their thoughts and agendas on the air. these messages are actually thoughtful and thought-provoking. this would truly educate those who watch it. every time i watch TAE, it seems that dillahunty gets smarter and smarted. logic ftw!

  • That's true but I think it comes down to ratings. It would only work if TAE started a lot of controversy and got a lot of viewers that way. But who knows, maybe it would work! Either way, they should be on national TV.

  • It would be a big money loser for the TV networks though.

It's more cost-effective to put a late-night evangelist on air than some rowdy 'infidel'.

It's all about the bling these days and who's got better cash-flow, TAE or Jesus Inc. ?

One benefit of being a religious huckster is there are a lot of people willing to donate, maybe atheists need to start a mega-church!?

  • That's the problem with us Atheists...We aren't lying thieving scum!

  • "It's a good show with meaningful content"

That is the problem why this is not on TV. Dillahunty just said on this clip "thinking is hard work". People don't want to think when they go back from work. They want just sit and do what tv man says: what to buy, what to love, what to do...

  • And on UK cable too. That would be cool

  • I love living in Austin.. I get to watch the Atheist Connection on Sundays, when it airs, on television. :)

Austin -- THE place to call Home! :)

P.S. Imagine a community with lots of level-headed folks that think / live like the AC guys. The good people of Austin make the rest of life easier. :)

  • I'm imagining utopia, is that close?

  • I lived all over the country as a Navy brat... then joined the Navy and traveled the world a few times... and no place, I mean no place, has ever given me this feeling of "Returning Home..." So, it's my little utopia. I've lived here 3 years now and I can't see myself leaving... short of the world coming to an end, of course. Some nice caves around here if that happens... hahahaha. :)

It's nice to feel at home outside of your house. :)

  • Sounds like a great place to settle down. I might have to visit there someday.

  • The Atheist Experience is the one thing I'll miss when TExas succeeds

  • "The Atheist Experience is the one thing I'll miss when TExas succeeds"

Succeeds at seceding? :) We'll see... I believe in the United States as a Constitutional Republic. Thus, as an American, I will fight for that Constitution.. but reserve the right, as a Texan, to withdrawal from the social compact and strike for Indepedence -- the same route our Founding Fathers took. Reconciliation with the Crown failed, then the King tried to take our guns, and Revolution was the only answer.

  • Go ahead Texas, GTFO. See how well you do as a solo nation.

  • Wow... first, I am not advocating for Texas secession. I clearly started that I fight for the US Constitution. However, we, the People, always reserve the right to abolish the Federal Government if it no longer serves the People in its agreed upon functions, as laid out in the Constitution.

That aside, Texas would actually function quite nicely as a solo nation. Our economy is the 15th largest in the world -- that's bigger than 180 sovereign nations.

A nation before, we can do it again.

  • You can't blame them for wanting to leave this country but they are doing it for all of the wrong reasons I think.

  • Texas isn't leaving... the US Constitution isn't dead. It may be living on life support, but it's not dead yet. I will fight for that wonderful piece of parchment as it is still the best document of freedom and equality chaining down the power of government. If anyone has a better one, please correct me. :)

However, Rick Perry and the Republicans are hijacking a very real concern about State -vs- Federal power. Where were they during Bush's years of unprecendeted power grabs? Hypocrites.

  • This is just a guess but were they making money when Bush was in office?

  • Greed for power and money. The cycle of Democracy always begins its downwards trend once the populace realize they can vote themselves money from the treasurery. They will vote in the politician who promises them the most, until the system collapses under bankruptcy and is replaced by despotism.

Bush and the Republicans merely did what they all do -- make promises to get elected then do whatever is best for the lobbyists / corporations that footed the bill, which was $1bil this election.

  • can i move in with you?

  • Texas is a big place... but Austin is the place to be. :)

Being surrounded by good people makes the rest of life that much easier.

  • -_-+ Oh yes. It irks me when I hear people looking up their horoscopes in the newspaper every day. People where I live are violently obsessed in that bullshit. >_>

  • If you know any of them personally you should do what James Randi did. Give them "their" horoscope and see if they agree with it. Then reveal that it wasn't their horoscope at all. This shows them how one horoscope fits all.

  • What ticks me off is those who read thier horoscopes are the fact they will in one breath say they know it's not real and in the next say how perfectly it predicts them on a regular basis. Logical on one hand and retarded on the other... I just can't get that..

  • I've noticed that too. On one hand they "admit" it's all nonsense, but then after that they claim it predicted something...

  • I like to read my horoscope a day late, so I can laugh at just how utterly wrong the predictions are.

  • Maybe you should read the horoscope for the Zodiac sign about one month before your sign. The constellations have shifted about a month backwars, due to Earth's wobble procession, and the fact that the Zodiac hasn't been updated in almost 2,000 years.

Thus, my birthday is July 2nd... Cancer by modern mistake, but actually Gemini based upon the astrological position of the Sun for my birth.

Try that... you will still probably get some laughs, but at least it's Astrologically correct. :)

  • "Astrologically correct"

    Isn't that an oxymoron?

  • Good point, that's like saying "Incorrectly correct."

  • No more an oxymoron then "Monopoly correct." If you're going to play the game of astrology, it'd make sense to start by understanding, and abiding by, the rules. Thus, what stars the sun is 'in' when you're born should be what you look up your astrological 'profile' under.

And, funny thing is, those signs are all about one month (one sign) off because the accepted Western Zodiac hasn't changed in about 2,000 years, while the Earth's wobble has progressed further in it's 26,000 year rotation.

  • I think Matt makes a great case for just general education in this video and why education is important.

  • Yeah, you should hear them talk specifically on education in America. They have some great ideas. Matt Dillahunty for president!

  • He's already president... of the ACA ;P

  • Good point.

  • These two guys are great. Logical, concise, literate! I love them.

  • If you haven't seen their full shows I highly recommend it. They have shows every Sunday. Search for Atheist Experience on google.

  • Oh, and they have live calls. Those are the best.

  • How much do you want to bet that bad stuff would have happened anyway? Take responsibility for your actions. Don't blame witchcraft lol.

  • I AM A WITCH

    blessed be )O(

  • Well, look on the bright side folk. At least america doesn't have 60 million fundamentalist scientologists right?

Then again I don't think there is enough money in the world to get 60 million people to OT8.

  • The poor ones tend to die off, Scientology will suck your bank account dry and leave you hanging.

  • I like forechin telling, and all that crap, not because I believe it, but just because it makes life interesting. I think High Arcadia Terrot cards are cool, but I don't believe in them. Still, I'd bay 2-4 bucks to get a reading if I was board.

Sorry about my bad spelling, by the way.

  • Sarah palin prays and "God" says fuck off here

  • I cause car accidents through my demonic powers of driving like shit!

  • rofl

  • lol

  • i will do just this.. if something bad happens to me i am going to blame the local fortune teller and get an angry mob to run her out of town..that should sort it out..what a bunch of 'tards

  • If I noticed a high number of accidents on a specific street, I wouldn't blame the nearest fortune teller. I'd look into changing the speed limit or adding traffic lights. I guess I'm funny that way.

  • What a crazy idea!

  • DEMON!!!!!!!! :P

  • Obviously you are a witch.

  • Bring me a large scale and a duck!

  • or build a bridge out of him!

  • She turned me into a newt!

  • "I got better..."

  • lol

  • Gravy? Churches? Lead?

  • It would be cool to see a daily astronomy section in newspapers, rather than astrology.

    (why -logy btw?)

  • That is a better idea. But I think the "logy" is used for the same reason scientology uses it - to sound scientific.

  • Yeah, I think so too... but it should be protected; people might believe it.

  • Just because people believe it doesn't mean that it needs to be in the newspaper. If that was the case we would have very little news and a whole lot of nonsense.

  • Yes, a self affirming bias is not a good thing to post as news.

  • They should publish something funny on April 1st. Something like "you're going to commit suicide today!" and see how many of them do it.
