  • This is bollocks mark!

  • I don't see why the Doctor shouldn't regenerate with any skin colour he chooses. Patterson Joseph would have been great in the part.

  • @Drichansa This would also be a great chance to beat racism and show that the Doctor is an alien who transcends skin color. I can imagine what he would have said if Patterson joseph was casted instead of matt smith as the doctor.

"I might have changed my hair, my voice, even my skin color, but i am still the same man. I am still the same Doctor"

  • Matt Smith is way better and will be amazing, just give him a chance :) but also paterson would never become the doctor because:-

    1. hes ALREADY been in it, it would be silly to cast someone who has already been in it as someone else and i know that karen and freema were in it before but they are just companions and you cant do that for the doctor

    2. before anyone goes all p.c., im not racist, the doctor is white and no regeneration will ever change that sorry

  • It's not about the 'first black doctor' it's a about the 'right doctor' and this man seems like a great choice.

  • Joseph wasn't cast as the Doctor, but he's still a great actor. I hope he finds continued success in all the things he does..

  • Johnson makes my loins a little moist than usual.

  • I think if he was chose he would be similar to ecclestons doctor really and he would make a good doctor

  • Ok this guy isnt the11th doctor but theres no reason why he cant be considered for the 12th or final incarnation

  • I was'nt to sure at first but I think he would be a great dr who.

  • same here. But I wasn't too sure about david tennant as well when chris ecclestone left back then. who knows.

After all the doctors will be the doctor aye? ;D

  • As long as he doesn't play the Doctor in a goofy way he should do excellently

  • HELL YES! get this man in controll of the TARDIS, a great guy a great actor let the man run wild with the roll of everyones favorate time lord

  • Seems like a nice guy. A Black Doctor is long overdue. My only problem is I haven't liked him in anything I've seen.

  • I want him to play The Doctor just like Alan Johnson...

  • I hope he'd be able to continue with Peep Show as well though

  • He was absolutely fantastic, a real scene stealer in Neverwhere. I'd LOVE to see him as the new Doctor.

  • i think it would be a huge gamble it could pay off but still its a gamble too far.

  • i actually can see him playing doctor who! :)

i havent seen his acting but i would like to see what hes made of!

(plus yay! first black doctor who!)

  • Oh, please please please. Him as the Doctor would be amazing.

  • yea i can see him as the doctor more than any of the other favourites

  • I can see him as the new Doctor Who....

He's the new favourite to play the timelord in 2010.

  • He's a brilliant actor, but he's also one of those Dustin Hoffman-style actors who somehow thinks that being a good actor is saintlike and spiritual.

  • I posted earlier how embarrassed I am with this actor representing the black community but it was deleted. Guess free speech doesn't apply, which is no surprise. Paterson Joseph's ego couldn't take the truth. Lighten up, man! Take yourself less seriously, please.

  • why are you embarrassed with this actor representing the black community? (i didn't get to see your earlier post)

  • What do you mean "representing the black community"? he is a black man but what he does in his life has no bearing on me.

I think PJ would be great as the doctor i wanted him from the first time i watched neverwhere in the 90s but i hope his doctor has a bit less arrogance the the Maquis.
