  • So much for conducting...

  • @signal899 A performance that tight cannot happen without conducting. This is obviously the result of very strict and conducted rehearsals. Bernstein is just stepping aside, letting the players do what they do best for the audience without the distraction of a conductor.

  • when youre bernstein, you dont move your hand. you control everything by gazing with the eyes

  • RIP Leonard Bernstein

  • Thats right...all feeling and pride in his orchestra, not himself. He is making a big compliment to them by doing this.

  • When you are a genius, it doesn't matter if you're a show off... He's deeply missed.

  • 0:12 New poster!

  • This is LBs way of showing off the orchestras ensemble ability.

  • AHHOMMMYY GOODDDDDD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well, obviously he;s brilliant but, my, what a show-off!

  • @Crumphorn

ja ja ja, you made me laugh a lot, (but ...maybe you're right)

  • @Crumphorn he is actually "giving away what he loves" He is not showing off by any means, he is letting his orchestra do it themselves without conducting. He is giving a huge compliment by doing this and not doing anything. Has NOthing to do with showing off. A good TED talk recently showcases this aspect in terms of leadership and music conducting. He is proud of his orchestra if you look again. I think he's a genius and actually quite humble.

  • Look Ma!

  • hes not even moving his arms... all in the face

  • @Llynze

yeap!!!! it's wonderful, he's just feeling...no words, no hands, just feeling....
