Well, Kelly is trying to show us that how ineffective how Sandra's recipes are. She actually sacrificed her time, money and taste buds to make this for us and save us from unnecessary sadness. Well, not everybody is that selfish as to keep the injustice to ourselves and let the others die.

Congratulations on your cookbook that is about making REAL pies. Not like this recipe for pseudo-pie that is made to resemble the real thing from darling Sandra Lee. I find it funny that most of the members that gave positive reviews for this recipe made major renovations like using homemade crust, removing or altering the alcohol, adding thickeners, or even altering the filling. I admit to being a lazy culinary arts student: I use premade crusts, I take shortcuts, I use box ingredients, but I put at least some effort into making my food taste right. There's nothing wrong with taking a shortcut here and there, but if you routinely sacrifice the quality of your food to save yourself some effort you can't call yourself a chef. And that's my problem with Sandra Lee; she doesn't care about food but calls herself a chef.

@unhappytomato Actually, if you have milk, flour, sugar, egg, butter, baking soda, and maybe sour cream, you have the ingredients to make pretty much any baked good. Pie crust is just flour, sugar, water, and butter. SHE would have made a lattice with her pizza cutter, but the recipe called for a top crust that was totally flat with some holes in it. And if you want to cut out biscuits, you use a clean water glass if you don't have a biscuit cutter.

I think people are missing the point behind Kelly making Sandra Lee recipes. As some have said, yes Sandra is the one with success and money, but to a real cook or baker it is infuriating. Kelly is trying to show you how Sandra's meals just don't work when you are out of the food network studio (I doubt they even work in the studio) and how no real skill, talent or culinary prowess is employed when making this food. Sandra's Show is about giving a busy Family ideas to make something from home when they do not have time to put into it BC they have a life other then cooking and eating. Eating out is expensive, cooking pie from scratch takes time. I'm sure everyone would love to bake 100% homemade from scratch all of the time but not everyone has the tools, knowhow and time to do so.

This isn't the same as ragging on some random person on TV. Sandra Lee sells cooking skills, something that's about as empirically testable as possible. I've tried a few of her recipes and had the same bizarre, negative results.

There's nothing wrong with pointing out that the woman's product, the recipes, are bad (proven in the video by strict adherence to the provided recipe). If you got a Gucci handbag that was poorly made, same deal. Fame doesn't matter when there's a flawed product.

If you go on FN's website and look at the reviews for Scamdra's recipes it's pretty much a 50/50 over there. You got the Fandras who worship her semi-ho-made tushy and those who thinks her slop sucks rotten eggs. The negative reviews are truly worth reading because they're quite vocal.
