I played way way back in my 20's and lost, basically you accept before hand that you might get gunged, there are no showers, it was on the village green where i live, i myself was wearing a smart rugby shirt (had been in our local pub) not expecting to get gunged, I was left slimed and had to walk home, very cold!!
