The original was indeed performed by Ike and Tina. Since then other greats have covered. ..ie. Nina Simone, Kina, Nikka Costa, more ... and most recently, Joe Bonamassa. Woah! He rocks it!
I would love to agree with you as I love Nina Simone, but the song was written by Tina Turner's sister for Tina to sing. It was later covered by Nina Simone. You can look it up :-)
nina simone's version covered by kina written by tina & her sister about nothin doin.....i miss kina....when is she going to working on something new.....i always compared her to an older tina (in the 80's) w/ that heavy rock influence

Then you don't know your music history too well because it was a Nina Simone song and has been covered by Nikka Costa on her second album as well as performed live by the likes of artists like Kina but as far as I know Ike And Tina Turner never did this song.
Sorry this song was written by Alline Bullock Tina Turner ( Anna Mae Bullock )' sister, this song is included at "Working together" album by Ike and Tina Turner released in 1971.Even there are an Ike and Tina Turner compilation called "Funkier than a mosquito's tweeter". You're very wrong ¡
Actually, you aren't completely correct. Though Tina wrote the song, this *version* is distinctly Nina's. Tina's version is more brassy, but Nina's is a whole new bag.
I wish she would stop playin' with my 'motions and record another fabulous album. I lubs me some Kina!!
