You should have gone with the 2008 conversion intake upgrade for 99-07 4.7 engines. Reason is that the runners in the 2008 intake are a little bit shorter at 350mm and the others have 415-510mm depending on your year. shorter runners make more hp at top end. The H/O or stock one falls on its face above 5200, while the shorter runners will pull all the way to 5600-5800
ya i know.. but when i bought this one, there wasnt really any 08 mani's around, plus the TB adapter is like 250+ IIRC. could make my own, but did this one.. ill probably upgrade to the 08 and some 206 cams from KRC performance.
You have the h/o cams so why waste time and money swapping again to 206 cams? I have the h/o cams with my ported heads and I am into 14.10 easily in the 1/4. if you could you should invest in some porting instead of cams
true.... ill look into it. this is also my DD, 98k on it..so im not trying to make it non reliable, although porting shouldnt be to bad.. but who knows, we'll see what i can come up with.. how much would porting and/or polish run? been thinking of s/c
I have just crossed the 100,000 on my DD durango. Porting the heads and raising the compression will have no effect on your reliability, in fact if you raise it like I did you will get better gas mpg and hp. If I were to have charged for my work on my heads it would have been around 1400-1600 but I went all out with flow testing and matching everything perfect. you can get a good job for like a 1000. sc is nice but I wuld turbo it before sc it, makes more power and you can get better mpg.
No problem, My shop is located in Somerville, N.J so if you live some where near you can swing by or we can talk about this another time even more in depth but you gotta nice durango.
like it..i have a 99 2wd 318,gibson headerz,vortex charger,3"4" drop,3"true dual one chamber exhaust,etc........lots of shit..lol..like that paint!!we need to start a durango HP club..lol
Nice durango, that hp is a lttle low for that. I own a race engine/machine shop and I have a 2001 4.7 durango with ported heads, raise the compression from 9.3:1 to 9.8:1, H/O cams, sct custom tune. I am making currently about 315 to the wheels. What kind of drop do youi have on your durango if you have one at all?
that may be true, but 235 is stock engine horse power, so im around 280+? at the engine.. but now im over since i have cams and intake manifold.... no drop, stock height.
just to figure out the engine power all it is ,is add about 20% to your rwhp but the only number that matters is what you put to the ground , I am making 310 to the wheels. What cams did you put in, you are probably making around about 260 to the wheels unless you went reall big with the cams, and what intake did you put on, the newer version?
SWEET
