Well Sheriff Arpaio is definitely not an authority you should speak to when it comes to race relations in Arizona. I lived there for three years and yes I saw this exact same kind of behavior played out on this show every day. If you looked like you were of Native American, Latino, or Hispanic descent you were constantly harassed especially in macomb county where Sheriff Joe has jurisdiction.

Then the officer asks about citzenship. A security guard cannot do that, nor make a arrest. The can for instance, detain a shoplifter but because of liberals, lawyers, and frivoulous lawsuits most don't.

Technically, private security guards really don't have the power to do that under Arizona's law, which is what I think the Sheriff was referring to by 'twisting the facts'.
Though I think the situation would have played out the same had it been a police officer. Though maybe the officers are trained to approach the situation more politely, so it doesn't look too bad. Who knows on that part.

Well Sheriff Arpaio is definitely not an authority you should speak to when it comes to race relations in Arizona. I lived there for three years and yes I saw this exact same kind of behavior played out on this show every day. If you looked like you were of Native American, Latino, or Hispanic descent you were constantly harassed especially in macomb county where Sheriff Joe has jurisdiction.
