KingFish is always trying to get over on Andy ,,,,, reminds me of the comedy acts of Larel n Hardy ~ Abbott n Castello etc. I think Amos n Andy was a hundred times better! These comedies always had someone looking out for number 1 ````````
Your right... Niggers are much dumber in real life.. Especially the white niggers. I love fucking the white bitches, and let them ride on this hot black nut sack. After that i would take thier money and throw them in the fucking river.. I hate white motherfuckers.. I wish i could kill all of you, one by one by one by one...slowly..!! Have a good night sugar tits.....
Ask most people under 22 today and they'll have no idea who Amos and Andy were. Thanks for posting this. That lion looked terrible, like a rat with a toupee.
you know i'm black...and as racist as these cartoons and shows were...i enjoyed them. i'm 18 and my great grandmother talked about this show and had me watch. its funny how they made fun of blacks and they became successful...you can't say hollywood had a certian look cuz everything wasn't lily white in the 30's.
Nothing like clean, wholesome family entertainment, as compared to the sewage that passes as "family programming" these days. I'm showing this to my three year old and he's laughing his little butt off!
Animation was suuprisingly better back then. I like these old cartoons like betty boop and woody woodpecker. The part where you could see the form of the two guys holding eachother in the suit was pretty funny.
All who have done something agaist racism. {"You are blessed!!"} Those of you with foul, mouth is showing your shoe-size!! What ya, mad about!?! Did you live it!! {Nope!!} "You may not like!! "It is a history!!" I say, again--Talk to your Grandparents, they will tell you the truth or ture statment of the times!! They, lived it!! So, find the truth from them!!
Ha ha ha ha...Great Stuff!! They don't make 'em like this anymore. Thanks to youtube and all of the great uploaders so people my age can see how it was in the old days before things became all politically correct.
Hate to tell you young folks that this cartoon was made by colorfolks, themself. For back then, this was only the kind of acting jobs that they could get!! {Hey, They had children to feed & bills to pay!!} Young people, Read & ask, your Grandparents about that history & know the full truth!!
This was NOT made by "colorfolks." First of all, the voices were by the radio actors, Freeman Gosden and Charles Correll. They were WHITE. Further, the cartoons (2) were made by the Van Beuren Studio in New York, a white establishement. It was not until AMOS N' ANdy went to television in 1951 that the star characters were cast with REAL black actors. I hope this helps set the record, this being "Black History" Month.
Actually in the real Amos N' Andy television show, the actors were white people dressed in black face. They were not black actors as stated above. So really...it was and always has been racist.
What do you mean by the "*real* Amos N' Andy television show"? I believe there was only one and it was sponsored by Blatz beer and most definitely had all black actors. BTW, *playing*, in addition to kingfish etc., black doctors, bankers, businessmen of all sorts who did not call themselves Puff Daddy but used their Christian names.
Yes we are talking about the same Amos n' Andy. Yes there were a lot of black actors in the telvision show. But, the two main characters were white men dressed in black face. This is why it was a racist show.
You are wrong about the Amos 'n' Andy TV show. The two main actors were in fact black. On the ORIGINAL RADIO version of the show, Amos 'n' Andy were played by white actors Freeman Gosden and Charles Correll. Interestingly enough, even on the radio version there was never any real distinction between white characters and black ones. All the characters were given equal treatment in situations.
It was two white men on the radio named Freeman Gosden and Charles Correll performing in a radio play called The "Amos 'n Andy Show" for several decades. Late 30's to the 50's. After that a TV show came out with real black actors.
Apparently you have not even viewed the CBS Television series, If you had you would have noticed that the main characters were black. The only time blackface was used was by the creators themselves (Freeman Gosden and Chas. Correl) in the motion picture entitled "Check and Double Check".Please save yourself embarassment and do your homework and be sure to share the wealth.
Just relax and enjoy the "rube" humor for what it is. Every ethnic group has been made fun of for rube qualities, cheapness, anal retentiveness or *something* at some point. The cry of 'racism' (definition: who knows?) at every little bit of harmless humor is so over.
I hate that too and these honkeys are saying that we are being too sensitive. I wonder if we put them in a cartoon with exaggerated small lips and nose.
The funny thing is, we honkeys dont care what you call us. Cracker, white bread, peckerwood, it has no effect. Why do you think that is? Oh and we are mad fun of constantly by black and hispanic comedians. Do we care? Nope. We laugh. Get over it man. Dont let Jesse Jackson and Farrakhan whip you into a finger pointing frenzy. It makes you look silly.
all black people from back then to now did not and do not talk like and act like this. how they talk and act is a streotype. it's just like blackface, with the white gloves, big white eyes(the surprised eyes), and the big pink lips. the creators of amos and andy are sellouts/uncle tom's.
wow, that makes it better, then they were just racist.:)but you can live a wonderful and respected life in america if you are racist against black ppl.
Mostly in their speech and over-exagerrated physical attributes. It's racist in the same way cartoons are racist when they show asians with long narrow eyes.
Notice that Andy's voice is similar to Calvin Burnside's in "Calvin and the Colonel", the animated series created by Gosden and Correll, the same team behind "Amos n Andy".
