man, very strange... how can you control the inventory of a "mind captured" alien?? you are using some kind of cheat....

when I get to the base underground I lost most of my weapons and amu.... that's why I checked this video to see if that was normal...

Dude, I'm in Cydonia right now, entering the pyramid. I got 14 Soldiers with kick-ass equipment and 2 Hovertanks with Fusion Ball Launchers.

Now I will take revenge for all the frustrating hours of my childhood! :D

I didn't know how to find the launch mission to mars. Thanks you mentioned it in one of your videos. I am at the final part of the game. But I have done it without PSIonics no mind control and no abuse of the inventory bug. Much harder to play that way, but very statisfing. And its only taken me, till December 1999 (game time) but I am playing it on easy settings. I am going to give it a shot on superhuman level. I don't think the AI improves you just have to kill more aliens.

Higher diff = less money, more aliens, higher alien "density" on geoscape, tougher aliens show up faster, they baseraid you earlier, they out-psi you very early..... and so on :)

Its pretty tough on superhuman. Especially the early base raids. AND ethereals show up very early, very probably before you got your psi-lab up, even if you're fast.

Give it at try, it sure is fun and satisfying.

I enjoyed your vids but on my version when you leveled down to the alien base below Cydonia the game took away all of the weapons that were from alien research such as hvy plasma and psi which made it much more challenging! I still beat using the save technique but it was much more fun.

How did you get so far? I mean how did you beat those Crysalid Terrorists and get to Cydonia? Because a have a HUGE problem with them.

i mean no offense by this, but you sound pretty clueless. you need to read up on the xcom wiki and also find some read me's.

you need to capture one enemy officer of every rank and get info out of them. after you catch a commander and then research/interrogate/waterboar­d him, youll have the choice of going to cydonia in the global view screen under your aircraft options (i think) youll also need ufo technology to get there, of course.

@joebonk first time i completed it, there was no wiki, becuase we didnt have the net lol. but yea when i first played i was so bad, didnt take my time with everything. but now i can get to cydonia in about a years in game time. i do love it still.

Hello. I've watched your videos, you've inspired me to play this game, i've played it a while , very useful researches etc.

What did you researched for the Psh-Amp (mind control)? Because i didn't get any information towards it. I've done many missions, i've killed many of those crysalid terrorists scum. BUT... i didn't advance to the mind control weapon. What did i forgot to research. --because of this tiny problem i can't get/capture a commander alien. I think that i've killed 7-8 commanders.

you need to capture and "research" a psionic alien (sectoid or ethereal). though you don't actually have to. you can technically capture an alien using stun rods, or lightly injuring it (so that it loses consciousness from pain), or you can even choke one with smoke grenades.

Technically, I think it has to be of Leader or Commander rank. I'll try it out today or tomorrow.

Tip: Find, research, and use Small Launchers+Stun Bombs (grab them off either a Medic or an Engineer), use them over Stun-rods once you have 'em. Either grab a Sectoid Leader/Commander or any Ethereal; take them alive by stunning, and research the live target. Get a Psi Lab, enroll candidates, and then research Mind Shield (Base Defense) and Psi-Amp.

T'Leth = 3 level mission as opposed to 2, Tenacluats (flying Chyrassalids) everywhere, 8 targets to kill around Alien Horror. T'Leth blows up, everyone on board killed. Earth Saved...for now (Alien hand reaches out of sewers of Mega Primus)

i never found out how to get my avenger craft to get to cydonia, that was about 4 years ago, now today i finally got to see cydonia and the ending like if i was playing it myself.. great vid man thanks!. The only problem is that ... your voice is funny and makes the long ass video interesting ... but damn ur geeky and weird.

Everyone got raped for ammo underground

I didnt use psionics, instead just alot of blasters XD

Btw, you only need to take out 1/4 of the brain to 'kill it'

The way it ended for me was, I had a squad ready to go up the 2 elevator things...they all got ownt by the Ehtereals untill my last rookie warped up and took his last auto shot towards the brain and I ended up winning XD
