@Sagiebear7 You will be able to a few criss crosses in the front but you may not be able to get the weave pattern to go up as high in the back and you will probably have to use some bobbie pins or tuck some loose ends. It should still be pretty though!
i have seen your numerous tutorials. and i must say you are amoungst the best. you can clearly see and hear what the heck you are doing. i was shocked to see you with your locs taken down. i actully did one of mine and it took about 45 mins and like 16 toothpicks! lol! also i saw something pretty amazing on youtube. this female cut her locs off at the root and 6 mons later had them put back in! i must say i was very impressed. keep up the good work! and i can totally see you with the fat locs.
thanks 4 the helpful info:) got a question though, you have any idea on how to get those nasty lil cotton balls that tangle within the lock out?or better yet, any idea on how to keep em out?my locks pick em all the damn time and i hate how they make the hair look dirty:( some help pleeease!!thanks a bunch
well, i know you didnt ask me, but i have a little insight so i thought id help a fellow loc wearer out..
i find that i get those nasty cotton balls at the end as well.. you can pick them out with a tweezer, but be careful not to get carried away as you damage your loc.. another help is to keep your hair covered in a silk wrap during your times at home or whenever a covered head is acceptable. Keeping the cotton away i dont think is possible cuz everything we wear has some sort of lint to it.
thanks a lot for answering anyway - am glad some one did :)
i've tried picking em out manually like you said- and i agree on how easy it is to get carried away and damage the loc- i almost lost one! will also definitely look for a silk wrap for them when i'm indoors!
thanks again for the feedback, my fellow loc wearer :)
is it true that if you get dreads the only why you can get them out is if you shve your head? or can you hve hem taken out without cutting your hair? ;An answer is much appreciated
Great Video, what do you use on your skin? Your face I mean your skin is so clear. Is it also safe to leave an over night treatment in locs for conditioning.
Gurl, thank u so much for that demo. Ive been tryin to figure out how they did that style for the longest. Ive been locked for a little over a year and cant wait til mine are that long! Gurl, go ahead and keep schoolin!
this is great, my fiancee has started to dread his hair for almost hmmm 8 months or so and i love them! i love twisting them lol, don't ask i just think they're beautiful.
I don't think anybody locs for attention. Especially when some people w/locs still get strange stares and comments from family members.Don't you think you are getting even more attention with a big wrap on your head? I mean....if you don't want attention, then don't say anything at all.
I looked at your page and noticed that you posted clips where your head wasn't wrapped at all. Maybe you don't realize it but youtube is a public medium. You should review clips "Dread Locks" and "Tag of Love"
You aren't a woman and I appreciate Shawnta's clips because they show you that you don't have to adhere to the "idea" that locs should just hang. Too many of my family members have made comments about my choice to loc their comments have been subliminal and direct. Shawnta's videos show that Black women can do whatever we want with our hair w/o the assistance of chemicals.
And if you are not your hair, then you would understand that you don't have to comment when someone is showing a different style. I don't think Shawnta's videos are about who you are or what you should do...she's just showing ways to style your hair.
Cool

nice job lady! i love your locs. i think i'm going to have to try some of these styles on my locs at home.

My locks are just as long as yours, and i feel so bad because i never show my hair in public.
Asking me to show my hair is like me asking a woman to show her "(beeps)".
i just dont show my hair. like India Arie said, i am not my.......
but even tho my hair is alway covered, i still get alot of unwanted "stares".
i know. its me. but i didnt lock up for attention.
