  • Remember when I was a little boy visiting my morfar and mormor's farm in Pillemark. Rode a bike all over the island many times to Trjaneberg, Besser, Nordby, Kolby Kas,

  • How much I love Denmark..

  • Not like USA that never ratified the Kyoto protocol, while blaming developing countries for deforestation and pollution...

  • good going! america needs to implement many of these things!

  • one must try ones best!

  • Imagine how much money he saves. He even makes money selling energy. And he could live well even if the global economy would be in cricis, growing his food, producing his own energy and fuel

  • Imagine how much money he saves not buying electricity and fuel. If the economy crached he could still live well, totally indipendent: growing and selling his own food, warming himself and producing his own energy

  • Imagine how much money he saves not buying electricity and fuel

  • Wind Towers decimates Bird populations.

  • Toxins from coal fired power plants are causing more harm then the windmills now. Poisioning and genetic defects caused by mercury, arsenic and lead which are among the top agents emitted from the smoke stacks and coal ash dumps that eventually leeches into your water supply.

Save a few birds, but poision millions of people AND birds AND deer AND kittens, not a very logical tradeoff is it? CO2 is only one of the problems associated with coal and all the other carbon based fuels.

  • Yeah and radical Green changes is the answer?? Green energy can not sustain power for cities like Berlin, Tokyo, Beiijing, New York and LA. What Denmark did is amazing but it can not be implemented in most parts of the world for MANY reasons.

The answer is clean coal technology. Germany has a plant doing this but the US doesn't. Reason... the technology is very expensive b/c US coal industries don't know how to actually do it yet.

The Answer for America is Nuclear energy

  • Nuclear Energy in America is Extremely safe. Its almost impossible for something to go wrong now due to strict regulations and various technologies that prevent melt downs or leaks.

The concern is waste... US department of transportation personally transports all waste to nuclear dump sites. This gets rid of the illegal dumping and every problem with waste.

  • yellowman...Lemme see if I understand your logic. In order to reduce the toxic effect of carbon based fuels that have been sequestered for 100's of thousands of years. Simply replace it with nuclear energy which creates radioactive toxic waste with a half life of 10,000 to 1,000,000 years.

Earth already has a massive nuclear reactor, it's called the Sun. ALL energy on earth was created by the Sun. Lets cut out the middleman and start tapping into that big reactor in the sky without the waste.

  • nuclear waste is stored/buried in the middle of no where (Nevada Desert) Miles below Earths Crust. It's contained in HUGE lead containers. If something crazy happens it will still remain buried miles below earths crust forever. This is how US disposes of its nuclear waste.

  • Solar energy will probably be the future of the worlds energy but it won't be for another 100 years.Maybe a break through in the next 10-20 years could help lessen this gap. There are many limitations too solar energy. The efficiency of solar cells capturing solar energy is <10%. Limits on physical properties of metal used in solar cells

Geographical issues.Alaska gets only 6 hours of sunlight in winter time.

The intensity of the sun varies throughout the day as well. Noon being the strongest.

  • I am totally for green energy but I am against people who sensationalize green energy and negate other options (people like you). Blind optimism in green energy is not going to solve the worlds energy problems. Every country should strive to be less energy dependent like Denmark. The use of both renewable energy and non-renewable energy is what we should strive for.

  • @yellowman88 No it doesn't. That's an old tale that has no truth in it. Here in denmark we have thousands of turbines and no effect can be seen on birds.

  • So with 100 acres he makes no money from energy, crops or any other produce.

To make it worth while they have to put wind mills in the ocean to kill the sea birds.

  • Interesting...

  • the fight against climate change is a lost cause. we want to half our carbon output in 50 years but our world population will double in that time along with billions of people rising out of poverty joining our way of life. but yet that is never put into the debate and we make it sound like it can be completely solved

  • @negkreyol21

maybe you should start the depopulation with yourself."people that are dying from starvation right now are living better than you, you piece of shit!!! it's people like you why there's hundreds of thousands of people dying from starvation everyday!!! what makes you so much better than a man who actually works and lives a honest life to feed his family?? your probably a banker or al gore's penis shiner! you won't truly be happy until you learn to love and live a honest life.

  • @slimchancejw Calm down. He has a point. Stop being such a sensationalist and look at the real issues.

  • oh wow .where does that come from lol..i was trying to debate, you went automatically to insulting me.i never mentioned depopulation or have i insulted developing nations i am from the third world so what the hell.I'm on neither side at look at facts and not observation and just wanted to educate myself on the topic

  • According to UN figures world pop. will peak in 2010 and then go down. Read the book FEWER.

Climate change will happen no matter what. Global warming is a joke.

Don't believe the environmentalists who don't know a variable from a correlation. I learned this in junior high.

  • @negkreyol21 Family planning perhaps needs to be thrown into the mixture, condoms too.

  • they should start selling some electric cars over there, the whole island is about 11miles long ! no range problem there.

  • Awesomeness..... green is their culture... wow..... goose bumps......

  • There is a wealth of evidence that C02 and methane increase are fueling the change in global temperatures. The temperature changes, and a domino effect occurs that changes our planet on a massive scale.

  • I hate to say it but CO2 is not a green house gas and cools the planet, Methane is however is a greenhouse gas. But there are exponentially more gases that come from volcanos than there are that humans emit into the atmosphere, does the "ring of fire" ring a bell? There is a reason the politicians went from "global cooling" to "global warming" then finally to the most elusive word "climate change". It's all about political control, nothing to do with the environment.

  • I don't know where you get your information, but CO2 is a greenhouse gas. This line about volcanoes is preposterous. The natural levels of gases are counterbalanced over a short time by other natural phenomenon. I'm sorry but you don't know what you are talking about.

  • Talk to me when you are close to reality

  • Prove me wrong.

Are you talking about the oil company inspired conspiracy theory about the government using global warming as a way to expand control over the world?

And I'm the one who needs to get closer to reality...

  • There is plenty of evidence...

  • me too

  • I would love to live like that.
