She and Johnson both have gold medals though. World Class Gymnasts rarely make a return appearance to the Summer Olympics if they've already struck gold in a previous Olympiad. Literally every U.S. female gymnast except Dominique Dawes from 1996 did not show up for the 2000 Sydney Olympics despite winning team gold 4 years prior.

She isn't injured she's just been so busy since the Olympics she hasn't had time to train - that, and she had been training solidly for about 15 years haha. Time for a break!

And I'm glad she's training again, heard she's just completed her new floor routine. She'll be great in Dallas! Can't wait to see her at Worlds in London!

I can't waaait to see her at the nationals - I hope she does really well, I'm glad she hasn't retired. I'm hoping she'll become a specialist and win the beam and bars golds next time that she was robbed of in Beijing!

I met her once at Pan Am and to me she was very, very nice! She actually talked for quite a while and even thought me some skills, but since I am only a ballet dancer I basically wasn't able to do anything but the jumps...lol.

I met her and sadly she wasn't friendly. Don't get me wrong, she wasn't rude or anything. I was just a little dissapointed. Still a huge fan though!!!

Never meet your idols, you'll almost always be underwhelmed.

Not saying people we admire -or Nastia in particular- are not nice, just that we usually expect too much of them. They're not perfect. At least not all of the time :P
