@Rideric64 Not the one I had at that time, but the one I have now does. It is a very valuable tool. When you know how many calories you are burning working out, you can adjust your caloric intake accordingly and run a healthy deficit to lose weight, maintain a net zero deficit to stay at the same weight, or add calories to gain much easier.
@tegsandsara09 I guess that depends on how you look at it. Cost is a function of value. For me it is a bargain at $119.99, but I place a lot of value on being able to get great workouts done at home.
@magicalangel0 Have not done Zumba. RevAbs is pretty good. Insanity is my absolute favorite. I'm so much more explosive since I started doing it. Big gains in cycling.
I've been doing P90X for 45 days now i did loose weight the first month but this month i havent lost anything! Ive stopped going down in weight. However my muscles are getting more toned. But the videos dont make me sweat as much as they use to. So now im thinking of getting INSANITY Seeing that its more towards Cardio and thats really what i need. Anybody got anything to add when it comes to P90X VS INSANITY
@danlublock You are probably replacing fat with muscle. That causes the body's weight to stay the same, but your body fat percentage goes down and you shrink. Insanity rules. It is the best cardio workout I've ever had. I'm really into cycling and I've never been stronger/faster than when I started doing Insanity. Contact me or check out our website for more details.
Ive the deluxe version and it's freaking awesome! I'm not really sure how often I'm supposed to workout though.. Should I workout every day with different kind of workout, for example Cardio day 1, Cardio abs Day 2 etc
You get to make up your own schedule! There's no exact science to it. Find a way to mix in the new DVD's with the original program that works for you. Have fun with it. Experiment...play...learn. Set up your schedule 2 weeks at a time and change it as you feel you need to for you.
Cool. Do you have Insanity already? If not, let me know. We offer free coaching to people that get it from us. We have an online message board community and a lot of other resources.
Totally different workout. It is made by the same people that made P90X (Beachbody), but with a different trainer (Shaun T.) and with a very different style. No weights, no pull ups, just power cardio and push ups.
Just did the fit test today. I have a feeling Insanity is going to be hard based on how winded I was after the test. Any idea on where I can compare my results to the rest of the insane people doing this work out might be found?
Oh it is hard alright. It is also a lot of fun and if you pace yourself, you should be fine. I really do like that Shaun encourages breaks. You'll catch up to them eventually. Some of them are so hardcore that you might not ever catch them, but others set a reasonable pace. HAVE FUN!
oh yes i just ordered my set today and i'm super nervous about getting it started but excited as well!!! Thanks for the video, i'm glad you're sweating because that's what we want!
Right on. You'll do fine. You just need to go at your own pace. You'll see that not all of the people in the video can keep up with it. That happens. Just jump back in when you can and have fun with it.
i have insanity. man it is the best workouts you will ever get. it is P90X on speed seriously. but the results are great. i recommend INSANITY to any and everyone.
Yeah, its hard. Really gets your heart rate up quickly and keeps it there. Great workout. Spending a little extra time scrubbing the carpet with the Bissell these days. LOL.
Oh man...I want to get this soo bad! I cant find it so far in any stores well common ones anyways... I know it will kick my butt the first and heck even second time I do it. But I know i'll be committed. No pain no gain right? I just need to find the dang DVD....
You won't find it in stores. Beachbody sells it through independent reps ("Coaches") like Monica and I. It is $119 + shipping and handling. Send me a message if you are interested. The workouts rule. This one was one of the hardest ones in the first month, but in the second month they get even harder.
It is an in home workout series. The program is more strength training based as opposed to Insanity which has more of a cardio focus. If you want more info please send me a message or visit our website.
This is the hardest cardio workout that I've found. There is a good variety here as well. Plyometrics, pure cardio and cardio strength training. I can help you get a copy if you are interested.
No question about that. Insanity is not about 60 days any more than P90X is about 90 days. These programs are about taking control of your fitness for the rest of your life. I do a lot of different things when I'm in maintenance mode. It just depends on what I'm trying to accomplish. In July I did a month of leg strength training. I'll probably do a lot of yoga when this is over and get back to that.
Thanks for the thoughts. It is so curious how people doing HIT feel it is necessary to bash cardiovascular exercise. Very strange. I've recently researched HIT/HIIT and the concepts are interesting. However, even the HIT gurus confess that it is not going to be effective for endurance athletes. Enjoy your workout. I will continue to enjoy mine.
Hate cardio? Why? Cardio is good for you. I'm a triathlete and cardio is what it is all about. I'm really not into flexing on the beach. I do this to get in the best shape I can possibly be in. To do that, I think you need cardio.
you do not need cardio for anything if you are already in decent shape. Cardio does very little fat burning compared to actual weight lifting. Most body builders spend very little time doing cardio. And by very little I mean you can see them do some light jogging for maybe 30-45 minutes 4-5 times per week but rarely more than that. The perfect body is made in the kitchen and weight room
and just to add a little more in case you were going to question me. I lost 65 pounds, going from 250 lbs to 185lb in 8 months by lifting 5 days a week for about an hour and a half each day. 3 times per week I did cardio for 30 minutes and all my cardio was HIIT.
Yeah of course if you want to be a buff body builder type. But if you want care more about being in peak performance this kind of stuff is for you. I mean I can't tell you how many meatheads I know who struggle with normal push ups or simple running. Thats why you see athletes do mostly resistance and weighted cardio. but yeah you basically have to pick the workout regiment according to your specific goals.
I think you've nailed it Blacklite911. "Personal Fitness" is about what works for you personally. I go through phases where I like strength training (usually choosing P90X). At other times, I feel like Yoga is what is best for me. Last year I did it 45 days straight and felt amazing. At the end of the day I'm a triathlete and getting my heart pounding flying down a hill on a bike is what I enjoy most. So I'm really training to do that regardless of what activity I'm doing.
I think you might die if you did this 3 times a day. That would be over training to be sure. You might lose a lot of weight, but you may also injure yourself and would probably get sick. I wouldn't advise that. Are you trying to get ready for something? Diet, exercise and time are the only healthy way to lose weight.
LOL. It is pretty hard, but not impossible. I can do about 80% of it now. You just have to take longer breaks and you'll be fine. It is pretty intense, and I love it.
I am pretty fit. I have done 90x chalean x. I need to loose this last like 20 pds. Some of the jumping i will have to modify like on Plyometrics the modifications he gives. Thanks for the encouragement. I watched someone else do the fit test. Yep working out in his sweat.
If you've done those two, you'll be fine. The body is probably the most adaptable machine on the planet. It can get used to cardio and strength training quickly. Just make sure to get your nutrition right and you'll be fine.
wow, looks like a lot of fun, im getting this soon and my wife (whos account im using to type this lol) is going to get Slim in 6. I am stoked to get started on insanity it looks like a lot of fun! maybe i'll actually be able to see my abs after this!! keep it up dude you are a good motivator!
NICE. It is a lot of fun. Let me know if you need help ordering. We are Beachbody reps, so we can get you the products if you don't already have an outlet! You'll see some abs allright! Slim in 6 is great too!
LOL. My carpet is thrashed already! It is harder than Plyo X. Mainly because the intervals are longer. Instead of a minute or 30 sec and a break, you might do 3 mins of intense cardio. Shaun encourages people to take breaks, which I really like. Have not been this excited about an exercise program since P90X came out in 2004.
It is tough, but Shaun encourages you to take breaks. That's why they have about 12 people working out at one time. At any point a few are taking breaks. I'l tell ya what, if I can get through it without a break, I'm going to be ripped. Take care of that back. That stuff is rough.
love it dude, Im getting mine soon and will be starting in aug 1st as well, but I have 2 yrs+ of p90x under my belt, and about 1 week break in between those rounds, GOOD LUCK to both of us
i bought 2 of the 1on1 with tony workouts but did not get the insanity preview. can i find this on you tube or get a copy from someone. i want to check it out before i fork over all that cash.
You had to be a monthly subscriber to get the preview DVD. Not sure when the infomercial will come out. It is heavy duty cardio. Do you have X+? It is like Intervals, but harder. Very challenging. Shaun pushes people, but also encourages breaks when your heart is in your throat. Very god set. More vids to come here. I start on Aug 1 officially.
Oh I see, guess that makes sense. Yes I have the Plus version. Uhh, I can't wait to get Insanity. the wife is freaking out about the price so I am gonna have to save up for it. I will do a hybrid of P90X/P90X+ for my 5th cycle and by the end of it I will have the moo-la. From your vid, I will need to get healed up for a while before i can bring it. I keep overtraining and I am paying the price with injury, mnetal burnout, and constant fatigue. I have all the symprtoms, I am ready for my break
You don't need any equipment. Just you and the floor. I recommend some good shoes...lol. I like the power stands because they take pressure off of the wrists, and I have issues there. You can use them, but don't need them. I did Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs yesterday.
See i got that CD same as you i thought it was funny watching ppl in the video dropping like fly's. Umm just one thing ppl these ppl are not so much building muscle as just loosing a lot of weight we all look like that if we were 6% body fat i do adree though i like how he Handel it an the toons really keeps you moving the best part is you do not have to worried about buying weights good luck ppl an keep bring it you can never fail if you never really try just a saying i live by
It think it is going to be interesting. From what I have heard there is a big strength element to this workout. I'm not sure how he works it in, but the guy who setup the test group says it is brutal. The cardio bit was hard and I do expect it to be a lot of cardio. That should help my triathlon aspirations while building some muscle and hopefully increasing my max heart rate.
The Sneak Preview dvd you showed in your video clip, is that something I can request from Beachbody to try out and take for a dry run prior to purchasing the whole program or no? Thanks!
I don't think so. It was a gift to subscribers of the One on One program. Insanity was released yesterday. I'm super stoked. I'm starting with a bunch of people August 1st!
It is a Suunto T6C. It was part of a triathlon pack that I bought. HRM, foot pod and two bike pods (speed/cadence). Tracks Training Effect, which measures whether you are over/under training. Very effective little gadget.
Man...That was funny as hell. To see you all out of breath during the*finger quotes,warm-up*,was amazing. Now i really want to get my hands on this workout.
It was super hard. Ordered mine as soon as it came out. I can help you get a copy. We have a group starting on August 1st to let everyone get their copies, etc.
Wow you got me really psyched for Insanity!! I love Plyometrics and when you said you burned 472 calories in that short space of time I got more excited. Now I can't wait till it comes out!! Thanx for the preview!!
No problem. It was pretty hard. I liked the way Shawn handled the workout. Lots of yelling... Makes me feel like I'm doing something. Can't wait to get it either.
It is a Suunto T6C, which is really more of a triathlon gadget than anything else. I love it. Has bike and shoe sensors and tracks EVERYTHING. It is so cool. The ones that Beachbody sells are made by Reebok and have gotten pretty good reviews.
Hi! I enjoyed the video review. I'm currently on Day 61 of the X and seeing good results. I was thinking about transitioning into 60 days of Insanity when I finish in early July. I'm a little worried about losing the muscle mass I've gained doing the X, though. What do you think? I've also considered getting the plus or some one on ones instead for this reason. Any advice would be welcome. Cheers.
I think Insanity is going to have a lot of strength training in it too. Not as much as P90X, but it will be there. Pushups...pushups...pushups... Can't wait to get it. Let me know if you need help ordering. I can hook you up when it comes out. Thanks.
Thanks! I was very pleasantly surprised with Shawn T's presentation. I was expecting something more, shall we say, Hip Hop Abs. That one was lost on me. I had heard this was going to be very different and liked all the yelling. I'm a sucker for being yelled at apparently!
I thought it was harder than plyo, but shorter overall. The important thing was that it is different, and different is good. After the San Diego Triathlon at the end of the month I'm going to give it a shot. I'll be sure to give you the updates.
Ha, ha. Yeah, I was thinking about putting a yoga mat down just to see how much sweat I could put on it. Now that you mention it, the carpet will need a good scrubbing! I need a better home gym!
If you are a subscriber to Tony Horton's One-on-One Monthly DVD program, then you should receive it. That was the only way to get a copy that I know of. The full program will be out in a couple of weeks. Check back with me here, or follow me on Twitter @fitclubnetwork and I'll let everyone know when it is out. It was hard, but fun. Feeling it tonight after yoga!

You don't need any equipment. Just you and the floor. I recommend some good shoes...lol. I like the power stands because they take pressure off of the wrists, and I have issues there. You can use them, but don't need them. I did Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs yesterday.

What heart rate monitor are you using?
cfehnel 2 years ago
It is a Suunto T6C. It was part of a triathlon pack that I bought. HRM, foot pod and two bike pods (speed/cadence). Tracks Training Effect, which measures whether you are over/under training. Very effective little gadget.

Man...That was funny as hell. To see you all out of breath during the*finger quotes,warm-up*,was amazing. Now i really want to get my hands on this workout.

It was super hard. Ordered mine as soon as it came out. I can help you get a copy. We have a group starting on August 1st to let everyone get their copies, etc.
Let me know.

Can't wait to get it either.

what type of heart rate monitor are you useing im looking to get one

Wow, thats amazing. I think I would pass out, I can barely get through Plyo! =P
Xtian913 2 years ago
I thought it was harder than plyo, but shorter overall. The important thing was that it is different, and different is good. After the San Diego Triathlon at the end of the month I'm going to give it a shot. I'll be sure to give you the updates.

Ha, ha. Yeah, I was thinking about putting a yoga mat down just to see how much sweat I could put on it. Now that you mention it, the carpet will need a good scrubbing! I need a better home gym!

Is that DVD for free? How do you get it?
Calviinh 2 years ago
If you are a subscriber to Tony Horton's One-on-One Monthly DVD program, then you should receive it. That was the only way to get a copy that I know of. The full program will be out in a couple of weeks. Check back with me here, or follow me on Twitter @fitclubnetwork and I'll let everyone know when it is out. It was hard, but fun. Feeling it tonight after yoga!
