Actually, the 262 is the smallest Chevy V8. It was used in the Monza back in '76 for just a couple years. It was a dog of a motor.

the second v8 ever offered by chevy was in 1955. it was 265 cubic inches, and was rated at 162 horsepower with a two-barrel carburetor and had a 8.0:1 compression ratio. u could add a rochester 4bbl and dual exhaust to get 180, or go racing with 195 which had a corvette cam and springs
