Do you have "The Sky Above the Mud Below" or Dark as a Dungeon? I think his versions of those 2 songs are just about the best I have heard. I love him. Thanks for posting this.
I've always been amazed by the industrial complex of the state of Michigan. I am from metro detroit and I have to say, put kid rock, eminem, motown, who ever else aside for a second and realize this is some real raw hard times industrial revolution america shit. Love this and Guthrie forever. this song is one of them tear jerkers. And its a true story! this kind of music really needs to make a comeback. Is it possible? doubtfully. love all you people all around the world listening to this man.
Thank you kidbmx1 !!! someone gave me this song and said :" post this on youtube!! " and i thought this is Woody Guthrie :(..anyway thank you for your info and you have a great channel!!!! ;)

Hey hankwilliamsgirl. Is this from the Carnegie Hall performance right after Woody died?
I'm thinking so.
Just got down watching The Ballad of Ramblin' Jack.

Thanks. This song never fails to choke me up. Until the brutal history of the labor movement is taught in schools, this is how it will be told.

thanks hankwilliamsgirl. Lovely collage of Woody photos and one of my favorite songs.
I saw Ramblin' Jack Elliot singing with Peter Rowan at the Moab Folk Music festival last fall. It was awe inpspiring.
