Few people make note of it, but their outfits (easier to see on Len) have a music symbol on the kerchief area, and they represent I believe the bass and treble cleft (I don't know my music that well sorry) of the piano, the right and left ends of the piano, Rin and Len, get it? Like a play on Right=Higher Pitch=Rin, Left=Lower Pitch=Len.
People can have the same last names without beeing related. Asians have Phan as an example.... and Disney characters too.. I watch too much cartoon nowdays.

That's because it is actually from the same composer れれれP :), the "renka" series (renka standing for 恋歌 (Love song) a pun on Len's name and the personality added to Len like Ikerenka -> Ikeren (IkeLEN) instead of Ikemen and adding renka would result on Ikerenka (or Ikelenka イケ恋歌).
This one Hetarenka is actually the first one of the renka series XD the next was Ikerenka and that's pretty much why they sound alike (then there's also Tsunderenka, Maserenka and Yanderenka so far and I thiiiink I saw once a lyric for Nakirenka.. I wonder if that will be the next one)

That's because it is actually from the same composer れれれP :), the "renka" series (renka standing for 恋歌 (Love song) a pun on Len's name and the personality added to Len like Ikerenka -> Ikeren (IkeLEN) instead of Ikemen and adding renka would result on Ikerenka (or Ikelenka イケ恋歌).

This one Hetarenka is actually the first one of the renka series XD the next was Ikerenka and that's pretty much why they sound alike (then there's also Tsunderenka, Maserenka and Yanderenka so far and I thiiiink I saw once a lyric for Nakirenka.. I wonder if that will be the next one)

Well, Yanderenka was uploaded to nico a few days ago and I don't really know how much time れれれP takes from one song to another (れれれP actually worked on yanderenka since May and I think think think computer failed or something and couldn't finish until now ＜- Sorry I don't really know japanese to understand entirely those things.. Not at all, the Vocaloid birthdays are actually took from their releasing date, like Miku's August 31, according to the fandom she's now 17 since when she was announced/released (2007) she was 16 (even though Crypton still enlists her as 16 years old), Rin and Len are going to have their birthday this December 27 and they were announced as 14 years old, so, they're going to be 15 when the time comes.
I hope I didn't got everything more complicated XD; orz

Accually...... Lens Seiyuu (voice actor) who recorded his voice is a girl..... D: but the seiyuu's twin, she actually has one I think, did Rin's voice! :D

Rin and Len seiyuu's name is Asami Shimoda and she did both of them :)
I actually prefer female seiyuus doing teenage male voices and don't see anything wrong with Len's seiyuu being a girl ^^; There are some awesome female seiyuus doing boy's voices like Megumi Ogata and Paku Romi

The song Hetarenka (or Hetalenka) is about how Len likes to sing but always gets errors while singing so he has to train and do his best at it, in this one he's always apoligizing to others because of that ^^;
