  • What counts towards the 100%? This is an amazing gameplay video, wow!!

  • This guy just fucking PERFECTED this stage not just in destroying the boss but by chaining the entire freaking stage...flawless...also This is harder than Ikaruga.

  • can anyone explain how the guns upgrade, theres only 1 faq out there and it doesnt explain very well. do they upgrade through general use or as i assume holding that gun on an enemy for a certain amount of bullets or time without missing and it will upgrade, but it only shows upgrades level for A,B,C onscreen. so what about the other guns, how do i know what level they are on? anyone got a list of how each gun upgrades?

  • Is there an option on this game for time attacks etc? I can't remember - I know your ship powers up with every gameyou play (provided you save) - an excellent feature IMO, rather like the ability to "buy" wepons, ships, art etc. from a "shop" like in Mars Matrix.. I do enjoy the feeling of progression when you are given extra credits on your next game if you have done well (like in Gradius V) - this gives a shmup a long lasting appeal that goes beyond the score chasing that we all love! ^_^

  • which game is harder ikaruga or radiant silvergun?

  • is he a fucking human damn???

    PERFECT GAMEPLAY

  • este juego es un tuco

  • now here's a true shmup veteran!! hands down the best gameplay footage of radiant silvergun i've ever seen!! mondo tubuloso!!!

  • EPIC!!!!!!!

  • Fun stage. Not the trickiest.

  • And the sequel was Ikaruga, another fantastic game. Never played this 1 tho. Wish I did.

  • very nice game .....the music really cool =)

poor my saturn cant fix it now =(

  • Can someone who knows Japanese please write to Treasure and ask them when they're going to re-release this game on modern consoles so Americans can finally play it? Why does Treasure hate America?

  • Comment removed

  • @regionfree1 well it seems it coming to xbox 360 after woppee, thanks treasure.

  • Where are all those missiles coming from anyway? They're like half the size of the ship itself, it couldn't store them all...

  • In another dimension OR a manufacturing process which creates the units out of the air so to speak. I go with the later!

  • diziness

  • Now THAT'S a boss battle. Can you imaging the Captain of that enemy ship? He must be like "WTF do I have to do to kill this thing? Just freaking DIE already!".

  • @wlmason73 : If you consider the fact that everyone on Earth is dead after the events of Stage 2, and the possibility that the ship might be from a previous cycle of humanity... it's a ghost ship.

  • @wlmason73

Captain of boss ship: h4Xx0r u53r OMG U CHEAT O.o

  • I remember this game. Epic..

  • This looks so very fucking epic. Great music as well.

  • Are you playing the mame version here?

  • To have illimited continues push L+R buttons in Arcade mode. It will increase the number of continues

  • Its unlimited, not illimited ;)

  • This game is so fun

  • the way it uses the sword. reminds me of gundam

  • whoever is playing that looks like a pro. I had this game for years but only played first level, looks amazing, will have get back on this soon.

  • He is the world champion at Ikaruga from what I've read. If you like this try to find videos by VTF-INO, they go through this level using only the sword and still chain everything, its mad. w w w super-play co uk

  • "world champion of ikaruga"

you mean hes a sub specie of god?

  • Yeah, something like that. Its the same guy who does the famous "two ships, one player" Ikaruga videos. You can get them in higher quailty over at super-play co uk

  • oh ive seen that video, freaking awesome.

  • Nope, didn't do that one, but the feel is certainly there. Hiroshi Iuchi did Ikaruga's music. Hitoshi Sakimoto did the music for Radiant Silvergun, and collaborated with Masaharu Iwata for FF Tactics (among other, mostly SquareEnix, games.) Sakimoto-san also composed for Gradius 5 (also a Treasure developed game) while Iwata-san did the music for Mushihime-sama by Cave.

  • Not an accident. Same composer.

  • This game kills Ikaruga...much better, perhaps the greatest shooter ever(certainly one of the hardest, though ikaruga is even harder(almost too hard))...

  • Hello,

i am a sega saturn shooter freak. I have the most at home. Radiant silvergun is verry good but the boss-fights are muchto long. I dont like this in shooters. At the most times i played Don Pachi or Do Don Pachi pon my Saturn. The next time Raiden Fighter Aces arrived the X Box 360. I think i would buy a Xbox only for this game. It have the best classical Shooter Series alltimes: Raiden fighters 1 + 2 and Raiden Fighters Jet.

  • The boss fights seem fairly short to me. Anyway, who doesn't like a long, intense boss fight?

  • this is only arcade mode, in Saturn mode there is another one right after it

  • I lost a bid to this on ebay. Me and the other guy went kind of crazy on it and he wound up paying £110, then a minute later I found an American buy it now offer in mint condition for about £85 ($165). It's kind of sad that living in Europe makes me feel like I got a bargain. Oh well.

Anyhow, this game looks like its gonna be tough. Props to the person playing, you're good.

  • Radiant Silvergun is now the best shot'em up history game, in E-bay it cost 100 USD LOL

  • at the start, i was thinking "thats not TOOO hard."

1:54 and onward is a different story. that's some nice skill. :P

  • OMFG!! I still get the shivers looking at this guy play. AWESOME..!!

  • music to my eyes, you done us shooters proud

  • looks awesome i also like sin and punishment what a game.

  • Check out IKARUGA...the best game treasure have made...

  • already watching this, the (true) best game treasure ever made. no knock to ikaruga tho, thats a close 2nd

  • damn dude, you frickin' owned that.

  • Is this a TAS? Were savestates used?

  • Last I checked, Saturn TAS was presently impossible. So I'd say that's a no.

  • Last I checked, Saturns didn't have coin slots. I assumed this was MAME.

  • I can empathize; that hadn't actually occurred to me.

Anyway, I just checked; the Saturn version says "INSERT COIN(S)" if you're out of credits in Arcade Mode. Of course, you can just insert more by pressing L, so... it's possible it's MAME, but it's just as possible it isn't.

  • werd. I need to find myself a good Saturn emulator, then.

  • Try SSF. Runs most Saturn games I've tried in it relatively flawlessly - although you may need to up the CPU priority in Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) for it to run *well*.

  • It's not Mame. I've tried MAME. MAME is unable to play the music properly in this game. In this video, the music is playing properly, so, no it's not MAME.

  • Not to mention, the several graphics glitches in MAME, which are not present in this video.

  • Holy crepe.

    You combo nut.

    You rock!

  • radiant silvergun... It was best shooter game in my life.

  • wow

  • fuck sony playstation

  • I love how Treasure are one of the only companies who take JUST ENOUGH of the awesome things from their last games (in this case, comboing) for it to learn, but never even close enough for it to be repetetive. Brilliant company, brilliant game.

  • Amazing. I have never ever seen so much life in a video game, its like watching a living thing. Thats why this work of art is so sought after, there was a factory sealed copy on ebay for £1000. Imagine the pain of finally buying it, and not being able to open and play it

  • BEHOLD! This man toys with the floating city! BEHOLD! This is how chaining must be done. etc etc

    Gamepimping

  • DAAAAAMMMMN!!

  • holy sh*t man you are AWESOME!! I can't get through that level without getting killed atleast 3 or 4 times, your attention span must be incredible!!

  • impressive, no matter how many times I see a 5A run. If I may ask, how long and what methods did you take to practicing chain, is a lot memorization?

  • i played this in the emulator.

MAN THIS GAME IS AWESOME!! EVEN ALL THE SATURN GAMES ARE AWESOME AS WELL!!

  • Dude, I don't know how much hours you spent on practicing your combos, but i gotta say I'm amazed...I played this game a lot but I'm far to be this good. Great skills !!!

  • AMAZING! Love the combo chaining also! Some great skills there.

  • NICE.
