If I were that kid, I would do that again and again every time I touched the ball and if I were his coach I would tell him to do that every time he touched the ball. Matter of fact, I tell my players to do that everytime.
@mjn76 You have to prove to me your god is real, your the one who claims he is real. I was merely joking. Kinda like the whole "God is too busy helping Tebow score touchdowns to help the starving," If you want to get into it let me know.
@mjn76 Also, it would be retarded to cause your team a penalty because you want to celebrate. In most High schools praying is considered celebrating, like spiking, dancing ect. So for you to say so be it..... that's like smacking your own team in the face.
I would rather see him do that than to see grown men touching each others behinds or saying profanity or acting "ghetto". He is not insulting anyone.
If u throw a flag on this, throw a flag when people give hi 5s n the end zone. He was just expressing his gratitude to the ones who got him in the end zone....GOD!
God has no place on the football field. He isnt on your team and he isnt going to make you win. what makes you think he cares about a stupid high school football game as meaningless as this one, let alone any sport? god doesnt exist, and if he did he wouldnt give two shits about any player or team.
@Airjordan12m it's really not about him thanking god, he took a knee in the middle of the touchdown.. Most high school refs flag for that.. If he wasn't on the field, everything would be okay, but he didn't so he got a flag and a 15 yard penalty and that's that.. Besides, if he really wanted to thank god, he could have done it on the sideline.. Instead, he drew attention to himself after the touchdown, automatic flag in high school..
I'm sorry, but your argument has no logic in it. @1porcupinetree I think he was joking about how stupid the people who actually believe that are. Aka satire. But a LOT more people overreact to jokes about Obama than jokes about Bush. Just something I've noticed.
@b3njamin0912 "Science and god fit together perfectly" Who the fuck told you that? Casey Luskin? Religion attacks science at all levels your statement was retarded, like your belief system.
@b3njamin0912 "When you look at things from your point of view, there is no real purpose to live" You're a fucking asshole. I Don't NEED a fucking purpose, you stupid tool!
If you really have proof that there is no Lord and Savior, THEN we'll talk. Until then, you're just religion bashing. Trying to counter by "you don't know either" claim is useless, because that's what faith is, and the crux of Christianity. Believing.
Too bad the kid isn't satanist. He could have gathered some of his teammates in the end zone and performed a sacrificial rite of some kind. I wonder how the ref would flag that?
@alphaomegaMF Its called excessive end zone celebration. It's a penalty in high school ball. Sportsmanship is destroying football, some of the coolest endzone celebrations are not done any more. But this one is a rip off anyways. If god did exist he wouldn't be helping any football players out. He probably hates that sport, isn't there something in the bible about worshiping false idols? Well all sports are a sin then. So stop pointing to god you sacreligious piece of SH!T.
@fuqeezyBABY You don't need my opinion? I didn't say an opinion. You said you were an agnostic but yet you believed in God. I stated a fact: agnosticism is technically atheism since agnosticism is the belief that God doesn't exist. You're an idiot.
@burtontoker you mean you didnt STATE an opinion? Whose the idiot now? And excuse me for learning from people a different definition of Agnosticism than what you know. Fucking faggot. And you don't know if God is real or not. No one does. So keep your opinions, to yourself.
@fuqeezyBABY You can substitute the word "state" for "say" if you would like.. It really doesn't matter. The definition I stated of agnosticism is the true definition, please provide a more clear one. As an agnostic, you believe in no God, therefore you are an atheist who wishes not to try and create stories about how our universe began, but you don't try to prove god isn't real - you just don't know. That's what I believe.
@TheKingschild88 As it is written, "Do not worry of what you shall speak in that time and hour, for I will speak though you."
Ok...so if I understand this correctly...this means that God will suddenly appear, shove his hand up your ass, and proceed to pull off a ventriloquist act that would impress even Jeff Dunham?
@TheKingschild88 "God is going to show you something powerful in your dreams such as you have never seen nor felt before"
Yes, you were correct, he did!!! I had this AMAZING dream where Jennifer Aniston was giving me a blow-job while the Three Stooges were playing on my Vizio HDTV in the background. You wanna talk about a slice of Heaven!!!
@ConalCochran there's no such thing as hell. i mean... there's purgatory, which would be full absence of God. but no... no hell. I'm glad you also believe in Catholicism!
All right, we all need to keep the debate about religion for another forum.
As for the play and call, the NCAA allows for a player to make a gesture of prayer but as for the NFHS book, there is no such clause.
In my opinion, the foul is defended by rule, but the use of it in this case is rather poor. I feel it was more the back judge making himself to be seen. The referee should have waved the foul off and then spoken to the coach to inform the player not to do it again. Much ado about nothing
lol at CRITIC 863 for the most ignorant post. Critic said I assumed the ref was an athiest, even though I never said any such thing. Get an education and learn how to read, Critic.
somehow when I came here, I knew there would be a religous debate. What are the rules in this case? In my state a player can be ejected for simply spiking the ball. Personally I hate it. I wish the NFL would allow those Billy Whiteshoes Johnsons types of celebrations again.
@hmwillow Maybe, maybe not. The difference is that there is documented proof that I lived. There is no proof that Jesus ever did. Outside of the Bible, of course, which means circular logic.
@TheKittengoddess how for sure you would know that your documented existence will last for the next 2000 years? The point I'm trying to make is that, just because there aren't any records of it, it doesn't mean they don't or didn't exist. Your logic is limited by science. You need to realise that science has limitations.
@hmwillow By "science is limited" I'm sure you mean that it's limited to being able to explain every possible event which could ever occur in the universe, and that which it can't explain, it only can't explain YET. But you're right, obviously the scientific method doesn't apply to events which only exist in imagination.
@wooowmeato You do know that these writers all base their accounts on the Bible and the accounts from Christians, who also got their accounts from the Bible, right? Copying, embellishing and recording hearsay doesn't count as evidence, let alone proof.
the more i watch it the more i don't think it was unsportsmanlike . It was probably cause of the score maybe. They were blowing them out so maybe ref thought it was not in good taste to "celebrate"
@poohbear123456able That is a life lived in blind fear over rumors. Christians believe that all non-Christians and non-believers of the all-powerful Christian God will go to Hell, even the good ones, so the purpose is less about encouraging good behavior and more about following the teachings of Jesus. The beliefs are entirely unnecessary for a good life, so while you are free to believe what you will, it makes no logical sense.
@ImSofaKingGood Before you make assumptions I never said that anyone was going to Hell but even if I did that is my right. I feel that everyone believes in something even though you may be to ignorant to realize that. I just so happen to believe what my Bible tells me just as Muslims believe their Koran but that is our decision. You have no right calling my beliefs iogical. I did not say your beliefs were iogical.
Dear everyone,I cannot change your opinions on the subject but PLEASE respect others opinions, if one is christian, don't troll them because you disagree. If you are Christian, don't tell them that they are going to hell. This might not have been legal in football, but in the US (which is where a lot of these comments are coming from) we have freedom ofreligion. If you are atheist fine if you are christian fine. lets all just grow up and stop yelling at eachother because you dont agree with them
@fuqeezyBABY really? i dont have to follow religion to believe in god? religion, cults, organized belief in a god, its all the same. each religion has its own god with characteristics for that god. god and religion go hand in hand, you cant believe in one without the other. how do you know what kind of god you believe in if you dont have religious doctrine telling you about what kind of god it is? open your mind, the truth that god isnt real will set you free.
@burtontoker the truth? so you believe the truth is that the big bang is the only beginning? the big bang THEORY? i dont follow organized religion to the letter like some people. i believe in a creator, so i guess you can call me an agnostic. i have formed my own opinion for my beliefs, based off of all the research and judgement i have. and i am open minded, and deeply think about EVERYTHING. so screw you
@fuqeezyBABY the big bang theory is currently the most accepted scientific reasoning and evidence as to how our universe began. if you say a god created the universe, then who created god? if god always existed, why not say the universe always existed? it is natural for humans to create gods, it gives some a false truth that may "help" them, but is ultimately holding them back from the real truth, that the idea of a god is mythological and old. you have to be able to prove god exists my friend.
@fuqeezyBABY agnosticism is the belief that certain claims about our existence are unkown, and that we shouldnt create mythilogical stories to try and explain the origin of the universe. so, you actually are a theist without believing in religion (deism). you're already moving foward in seeing the truth - that religion is a lie. the next step you must overcome is simply understanding that a god existing is just as irrational as religion.
@DBABYmakesitrain god controls my life and rules over me? so what am i? just a puppet? doesn't the bible say we have free will? you're contradictory my friend. what youre telling me i believe (which is false by the way) isn't true and doesnt even make any sense. you seriously believe there is a god up in the sky watching your every move? really? dont you see how barbaric and old it is to believe in any god at all? why dont you believe in zues? why can you rationalize that but not christianity?
1) If you are born, you'll obviously not be capable of having a set of values like that- of course you can't be Christian, but you aren't Atheist either, as you've never heard of a God anyway.
2) But the comments do. >_>
3) You said that already... '>_>
4) Opinion. And I never said doubt was bad- people aren't just doubting; they are insulting all religion and in some cases, those that follow it. I wouldn't just call that "doubting".
@Megajanitor 1) When you are born you have no opinions on theism, thus all new born children must be atheist.
2) I dont know what this is in response too, too many comments, cant find original one
3) same with 2
4) Doubt is objectively good if we want a society of people to be RATIONAL. Religion deserves ridicule for how little sense it makes and how emotional it is.
@endauthority Erm no. Babies are neither atheist nor theist. So they can't believe in God or disbelieve him. They have no concept of a deity at all, something which doesn't make them atheist.
4. Didn't you hear me when I said doubt wasn't necessarily bad? Did you read my #4? Either way, it's okay to be skeptical, but most Atheists hear go beyond that.
thats stupid!

@1porcupinetree I think he was joking about how stupid the people who actually believe that are. Aka satire. But a LOT more people overreact to jokes about Obama than jokes about Bush. Just something I've noticed.

Too bad the kid isn't satanist. He could have gathered some of his teammates in the end zone and performed a sacrificial rite of some kind. I wonder how the ref would flag that?

alphaomegaMF 1 year ago

You're an idiot.
burtontoker 1 year ago
@burtontoker you mean you didnt STATE an opinion? Whose the idiot now? And excuse me for learning from people a different definition of Agnosticism than what you know. Fucking faggot. And you don't know if God is real or not. No one does. So keep your opinions, to yourself.
fuqeezyBABY 1 year ago
@fuqeezyBABY You can substitute the word "state" for "say" if you would like.. It really doesn't matter. The definition I stated of agnosticism is the true definition, please provide a more clear one. As an agnostic, you believe in no God, therefore you are an atheist who wishes not to try and create stories about how our universe began, but you don't try to prove god isn't real - you just don't know. That's what I believe.
burtontoker 1 year ago

FinalSmashBrother 1 year ago
All right, we all need to keep the debate about religion for another forum.
As for the play and call, the NCAA allows for a player to make a gesture of prayer but as for the NFHS book, there is no such clause.
In my opinion, the foul is defended by rule, but the use of it in this case is rather poor. I feel it was more the back judge making himself to be seen. The referee should have waved the foul off and then spoken to the coach to inform the player not to do it again. Much ado about nothing

somehow when I came here, I knew there would be a religous debate. What are the rules in this case? In my state a player can be ejected for simply spiking the ball. Personally I hate it. I wish the NFL would allow those Billy Whiteshoes Johnsons types of celebrations again.

TheKittengoddess 1 year ago
@TheKittengoddess Then again, in about 2000 years time, there won't be any proof that you existed.
hmwillow 1 year ago
@hmwillow Maybe, maybe not. The difference is that there is documented proof that I lived. There is no proof that Jesus ever did. Outside of the Bible, of course, which means circular logic.
TheKittengoddess 1 year ago
@TheKittengoddess how for sure you would know that your documented existence will last for the next 2000 years? The point I'm trying to make is that, just because there aren't any records of it, it doesn't mean they don't or didn't exist. Your logic is limited by science. You need to realise that science has limitations.
hmwillow 1 year ago
@hmwillow By "science is limited" I'm sure you mean that it's limited to being able to explain every possible event which could ever occur in the universe, and that which it can't explain, it only can't explain YET. But you're right, obviously the scientific method doesn't apply to events which only exist in imagination.

poohbear123456able 1 year ago
@poohbear123456able That is a life lived in blind fear over rumors. Christians believe that all non-Christians and non-believers of the all-powerful Christian God will go to Hell, even the good ones, so the purpose is less about encouraging good behavior and more about following the teachings of Jesus. The beliefs are entirely unnecessary for a good life, so while you are free to believe what you will, it makes no logical sense.
ImSofaKingGood 1 year ago
@ImSofaKingGood I just love your logic, because EVERY Christian is like "poohbear".

@ImSofaKingGood Before you make assumptions I never said that anyone was going to Hell but even if I did that is my right. mjGIGS13 1 year ago
@fuqeezyBABY really? i dont have to follow religion to believe in god? religion, cults, organized belief in a god, its all the same. each religion has its own god with characteristics for that god. god and religion go hand in hand, you cant believe in one without the other. how do you know what kind of god you believe in if you dont have religious doctrine telling you about what kind of god it is? open your mind, the truth that god isnt real will set you free.
burtontoker 1 year ago
@burtontoker the truth? so you believe the truth is that the big bang is the only beginning? the big bang THEORY? i dont follow organized religion to the letter like some people. i believe in a creator, so i guess you can call me an agnostic. i have formed my own opinion for my beliefs, based off of all the research and judgement i have. and i am open minded, and deeply think about EVERYTHING. so screw you
fuqeezyBABY 1 year ago
@fuqeezyBABY the big bang theory is currently the most accepted scientific reasoning and evidence as to how our universe began. if you say a god created the universe, then who created god? if god always existed, why not say the universe always existed? it is natural for humans to create gods, it gives some a false truth that may "help" them, but is ultimately holding them back from the real truth, that the idea of a god is mythological and old. you have to be able to prove god exists my friend.
burtontoker 1 year ago
@fuqeezyBABY agnosticism is the belief that certain claims about our existence are unkown, and that we shouldnt create mythilogical stories to try and explain the origin of the universe. so, you actually are a theist without believing in religion (deism). you're already moving foward in seeing the truth - that religion is a lie. the next step you must overcome is simply understanding that a god existing is just as irrational as religion.
burtontoker 1 year ago
@burtontoker nope. i dont need your opinion on how i should base my beliefs

5) Hence it being in quotation marks.
Megajanitor 1 year ago
@Megajanitor 1) When you are born you have no opinions on theism, thus all new born children must be atheist.
2) I dont know what this is in response too, too many comments, cant find original one
3) same with 2
4) Doubt is objectively good if we want a society of people to be RATIONAL. Religion deserves ridicule for how little sense it makes and how emotional it is.

endauthority 1 year ago
@endauthority Erm no. Babies are neither atheist nor theist. So they can't believe in God or disbelieve him. They have no concept of a deity at all, something which doesn't make them atheist.
Walnut1871 1 year ago
@Walnut1871 that absolutely makes them atheist. what do you think atheism even means? the opposition to theism? thats ANTI theism
a theism - lack of theism
thus, if one has no concept of theism they are atheist. atheism is the default.
