The little middle part alternates between 5/8 and 6/8.

The bridge goes back into 4/4. There really isn't anything that funky with time signatures until you hit that middle part.

There's really no reason for bands (or more accurately record companies) to make expensive music videos. There's no money in it anymore. Back in the days of MTV and such, the ultimate goal of a music video was to be so amazing that MTV would play it over and over again and it was like free advertisement. But since MTV doesn't really even have music anymore, there's not really a point of making an expensive music video.

just about the pulse... the pulse here is eighth notes... so you would never say its 11/4... plus the clear 10 and 12 groupings give it away. but generally if you have 8... 16... 32 etc in the bottom of your key signature its a compound meter.... i.e. 6/8 can't be confused with 3/4 because it can be felt in 6... 3... or 2.

If you believe that Mastodon is "Groove Metal" I can tell you with uttermost confidence that you are wrong. In my opinion, Mastodon is a unique band with a unique sound. I don't think they should be classified in a genre. If I had to I would classify them as "progressive sludge metal" but definitely not "groove meta" pantera is groove metal.

Of course the are not pure groove metal band like Pantera was, they are pretty damn technical for a regular groove metal band (unlike Meshuggah where the only technical thing is druming), plus they do mix a lot of genres, which sometimes do make them sound kinda progressive. But nontheless, the core of their music is groove metal, most of the riffing in their songs is groove metal riffing and they are closer to stoner then to sludge.
