  • My tegus are dog tame with cat personalities. They are relaxed and love attention but on some days just prefer to sleep all day long and not be bothered.

  • i have a bnw now and as long as you keep them feed there nothing to be worried about

  • Makedonec?

  • I have had tegu's for several years and take them to various shows ( once having 5 tegu's and 2 sav monitors on an open table for people to visit with) , the only time I have had issues with aggression is during feeding days with whole prey items.

Never been bit by any of my animals yet ( I say yet because one day I will make a mistake and get what I deserve for it )

  • Oh bubba like me

  • such a pretty tegu!

  • I had a B&W for several years, and I have the scars on my hands to prove it. He was random, sometimes attacking people for waking him up, and other times easy going. Don't be fooled by their laying on your chest, or curling up in your lap, they don't want affection they want your body heat.

I would never have never let a kid put his hands near my Tegus mouth. They can do serious damage to an adult, and take a kids finger completely off.

  • @ipissed and I have the scars on my hands to prove it.

    Well prove it.

It's a lizard not an alligator.

  • @security317 They can do a fair amount of damage but they can also be super tame lizards you get out what you put in

  • @security317 Then you my friend know nothing about lizards. I myself have been attacked by Tegus. Its not fun. You got lucky here. Try it with the more aggressive Gold Tegu and see how it plays out.

  • @ipissed People say the same thing about pitbulls and mine is a sweetheart its more about you the owner and how you raised the animal argentine Tegu's are very smart and can be trained and tamed. they require a lot of attention if they dont get attention they can be aggressive. Captive bread Tegu are not aggressive if raised right and that has been proven hundreds if not thousands of times by owners and countlessd youtube videos. stop your anti-tegu propaganda

  • @ipissed

You had a columbian ... hmmm wonder why he was random. Argentines are not like that at all.

  • @ipissed that is why it is important to know the tegus personality before you buy it. and make sure you handle it as much as u can when its a baby

  • While tegus do have the capacity to be just as violent as any other lizard, the black&whites are generally very docile and tend to bond with people rather fast. My friend's got to the point where he'd sleep on my lap after only a week or so.

  • do not try this at home D:

  • lol do not try this at home LOLOLOLOL. people keep the as pets LOLOLOLOLOL

  • yeah do not try this at home!hahahaha i have a boa 1:40 and i think i know about reptiles

  • its a tegu most are tame

  • no not really ,most columbian black and whites ,and also columbian goldens are always aggressive and mean..argentines can have theyre moments as well

  • It depends how they'rekept. This is an Argentine B&W, the tamest and most reliable of all the tegus

  • @geckokid94, tegus are not naturally tame, most of the time, you have to work with them just like any other lizard, the reason you think they are always tame is because most that you see this size are, and thats because with the care of good owners a tegu can be tame enough to sleep in your own bed with you at night, but, if not tame, they can deliver a really mean bite, and tail whip lol. but very good lizards.

  • she looks like she is a spoiled scaly princess. wish i had a tegu... instead i have a spoiled jack dempsy

  • Be aware he has years of experience.

  • @security317 the child?

  • @security317 tegus aren't violent at all, but nice try.

  • so u tell me not to pet a tegu but u let ur li9ttle kid do it.

  • @ukonfan912 Well im a kid and I have one...

  • @ukonfan912 they mean dont just go touch a random tegu because you saw a little kid petting one. its like not petting dogs you dont know because you dont know if they will be nice or try to hurt you. same with any animal, and especially a large tegu because you may scare it or come across one that isnt so nice like this one and get tail whipped or bitten.

  • ohh bubba is so pretty

  • Love the tegu, and your methods of looking after your animals is also very good.

Favourited this, come take a look at my Golden Tegu & Savannah Monitor videos.

    Whitey

  • Thank you. It is true, just spend time with them and they become not tamed, but friendly.

  • how is it dangerous everybody pets tegus

  • Oh not everybody. Only proud owners and scareless spectators.

  • Why wouldent you do this at home I do this all the time with my tegu?

  • Lol. Probe it. Post a video reply.

    And thanks for watching.

  • jess, do not take it literally, I was just being sarcastic. I would never put my boy on harm's way. Our Tegu is more like a house dog than a reptile.

  • @blueking21 as i said to someone else, they just mean dont pet any tegu bc you saw this little kid doing it. you might not know the tegu, and like any animal you dont just assume its going to be nice and pet it randomly. you COULD get hurt, whether its a dog, cat, parrot, or tegu. yknow.
