I have bought the D-Link DCS 932L and I must say i'm pretty impressed by the quality of the camera and it's features. It's an easy and affordable way to set up a small office or home camera security. I definitely am happy with this product and i highly recommend it to anyone.
Could you use this camera as a babyfoon? I want to hang it above my babies crib, so I can keep an eye on him when I go to work (my wife will be staying home of course).
And it also seems handy that it has IR and a microphone so I can put it on at night and listen/watch the baby as it sleeps (or doesn't sleep) with my iPhone.
So would it be possible to use it at night with the combination of the IR/microphone.
Thanks for the vid and especially for the example footage. I have been looking at a few solutions and this seems to be pretty good bang for the buck so far.
@kelasmaire The video quality is really the same. The only difference between the 930L and 932L is that the 932L has an infrared light so it can take video in the dark. The 930L does not shoot in the dark. So, I guess you could say the 932L has better quality when shooting in the dark or very low light.
@whitecloud608 So sorry to hear about all the problems. We did not encounter this, but thanks for sharing so other people can learn from your experiences.
@whitecloud608 I have been using it on a mac for a couple months. Download iCamSource for your mac and it will use the camera to record motion. They have an iphone/ipad app and can alert you immediately if there is motion. Very cool
D-link tech support was supposed to call me between 7-9 pm...they woke me up early this morning and they are also in the same time zone as me. I spent 3 more hours with a "Level 3" tech who used remote monitoring, only to find that they can't help me. They also deleted the cd drive on my netbook. They told me it is damaged when it was working the night before. Now I have to take it in for repairs or buy a new one. They damaged my system. I spent more than 35 hours over 3 weekends with them.
I've had nothing but trouble from the camera and tech support. The box is misleading, doesn not work with MacIntosh, check minimum screen resolution on your computer, I used a netbook only to find I needed a larger monitor @ 1024 X 768 pixels, can't get dview cam or email photos to work. Only live view video. Tech support messed my computer settings and CD drive doesn't work now. They keep stringing me along..more than 35 hours on phone with them.
Thanks...thinking of getting one. I got the DCS-930L, but I like the night vision aspect. One negative about it is, by default the MyDlink portal (where you use to view your camera) uses port 80. If you change to anything else other than port 80, the portal doesn't work. Bummer. I have to do this because I am running a personal web server which is also using port 80.
can anyone help me with how to get it to record video? I can get still pictures but that's it :/

Does the software work with IMac ? If not is there anyother software out there for Mac that would do the same functions as the Dlink software ??

Dlink told me after the return period of 14 days that the camera doesn't work with either of my computer systems (Mac or PC Netbook).

I wasted my money on the camera.
D-link used false advertising saying it is Mac compatible when in fact it is not.
The d-view cam software is for PC only. The only part you can use a Mac with is the
live video, which is no good if you need proof of someone doing something wrong.

@cerajimva Can you record the footage and watch it back on the mac ?
vivianpo22 2 weeks ago
@vivianpo22 yes, you can tell it to record. It actually takes snapshots of the activity and you can view it on your iphone/ipad or the computer

I needed photos of vandals. House was hit twice more while fussing with the camera and tech support. I suggest getting another camera that works!

Is it mandatory to use the dlink portal? Or it is also possible to view stream without the dlink portal?

@trinhk Put your camera into the DMZ on your router. As it is only using prot 80 it should be fine if you have a good password setting.
