web page load speed is actually affected by Blackberry's encrypted compression network that takes in the page data and compresses them then channel it to the blackberry, not that nonsense about the processing unit being on the lower frequency end.

if you don't use your phone for frequent things like game apps and w.e's then it is a decent phone. otherwise, your money is better spent on another phone.

Before i had Iphone that broke.Torch is Not slow at all. the only problem is that many (90%) preinstalled programs will not work with wifi. they require data connection. BB wants you pay extra for your internet. Also you must have data connection to go to some sites like blackberry app world, other sites work fine. Flash works only with youtube so forget about hulu. Youtube videos sometimes (35%of the time ) freeze for no reason. movies divx over 2gb have about 1 second sound delay.

@rubizabel214 I've had a BlackBerry before (8900 on AT&T) and I rarely had issues with it being slow. Many times when I had a lot of texts coming in it would freeze up, but it always came back. I've watched a lot of videos on YouTube about this phone so far and it doesn't seem slow. I'm also not big into web browsing on a phone, so if you're not either it should be fine. I plan on buying this later in January when my contract is up.

The reason the web browsing is slower is it runs through a blackberry server for every request through the 3G network. It Compresses most of the pages at the server and saves you precious data. Where iphone and android devices go straight to the site very similar to you home computer. The processor in the torch is about the same speed as many other deveices. It is slower than the 1 ghz models of android or iphone marginally however the biggest difference is BB's forced useage of their servers.

People have become so spoiled with large screens and high pixels and overlook so many of the +'s over other PDA's such as security, email, ease of typing, battery life, reception just to name a few. I've tested my friends Torch alongside my personal iP3gs and there were a number of times the torch uploaded web sites quicker.

Provide a proper bias evaluation showing the many upsides to owning a BB instead of your spoiled takeoff. Mahalo

@Exultedagain Torch is very stury and durable phone. The speakers are much better than the Captivate phone. Calls come in great and easy dialing. I took a hit on screen by getting this phone but the blackberry's telenav gps is flawless!!!!!!! You can use touch screen or keyboard. Your choice! I do like that! I guess it just depends on what you like. I travel and like to use gps alot so I would rather have that work than see a video in HD. LOL........

@Exultedagain No.....it's a good phone imo. I had the Captivate for almost a month but the GPS never worked and that was a deal breaker for me. Samsung knows about the problem and they are trying to fix it. I think they should have had it working before they sold the damn phone to the public! No indication as to when so I tried getting Telenav but that didn't work either.
