I'm kind of annoyed by some people's comments saying my yorkie has pain/infection/tic etc. Answer is no! Btw he is not doing this lately because I became early bird even on weekends. lol
If people think he is in pain they are stupid. IT is obvious he is an attention hound (pun intended). Yorkies know they are cute and if they are ignored they go into obnoxious look at me cuz I'm cute and I act cute mode.

My yorkie mix gets fidgety like that too when he wants something lol. Eventually, he'll put his two front paws on your shoulder and start barking in your face :-P
I have two yorkies and i think they are brilliant at communicating, our girl Lucie always tells us what she wants and she will dig us out of bed if we ever think about having a lie in!
On days I sleep in, my yorkie will stare at me a few inches away from my face until I open my eyes & then he'll kiss my face like crazy. xD After awhile I just barely open them enough to see him, then I like to scare him. :D
He also plays hide & seek with me. I'll put up my hand like a high-five and tell him to stay, I'll go run & hide...yell his name & he starts looking for me. Often I jump out and scare him then too. teehee
I love this. I have a morkie and he is often mistaken for a Yorkie. He is very expressive also and often tries to talk to me and we have cute little conversations. Your pup is trying to use body language to get you out of bed and into action for the day surely. What a sweet pup!! Rexie is very protective of me and I gather this is a Yorkie trait as well as fearlessness. They had originally been bred to hunt and kill rodents, especially rats!
I have this same breed dog. They are amazing and imitate their masters as well as other animals around them. They are such a Loving Breed as well. To be so small they have Really Big Personalities. Thanks for sharing

This is why yorkies are so cool. This dog is not sick or in pain. He wants his owner to get up and play. All the idiots out there who are saying he's ill.....get a clue.
FYI: This is normal as far as I can tell. I've watched lots of videos of these kinds of pups and we used to have a Terrier that had the same type of behavior. It's just their way of gesturing to their owners in a human way.

And people wonder why yorkies always get their way lol! They are very convincing! When my yorkie starts barking obnoxiously, I say "Winston, use your words" and he starts doing the yorkie talking thing. People look at me like I'm crazy lol! Winston is lying on the couch with me right now and he started having a "conversation" with your dog on the computer screen lol!
Your oh-so-adorable puoochable is indeed mimicking you. My cat, Emmie, will sit on my lap and give me pets on my chest and neck when she wants pets. SHe scruches her little toes just like I do my fingers when sitting at the computer or watching the telly. Your dog just has a much cuter way of wanting attention. Nice.
