What a Hive of Musical Activity. You can actually hear the Queen, Drones and Worker Bees all contributing to the success of this Masterpiece. The Honey produced by this performance is undoubtedly of the highest standard.I think that the title of Professor should be added to Dr.Jit and along with his players be placed in our Musical Hall of Fame. I will take into account that ah only playing pan about 20 years now so ah cyar talk about before 89. Never played with renegades but lawd ah enjoy this that year. Never heard anything to compare.

This is one of the greatest pan arrangements ever made. Watching the rehearsals for this in the pan-yard was one of the best times of my life, and sealed my love of pan, and my devotion to Jit Samaroo as the greatest pan arranger ever. That minor verse @ 5:55, leading to the jam break @ 6:23, then the chromatic run at 6:52 is sheer genius! Nobody else could pull that off!

probably one of the few great pan songs, and it wasn't even chosen first that year. Shows the degradation of the scoring process. I just hope that the corruption of pantrinbago may be halted before the great bands like thes are lost forever

JIT is one of greatest steelband arrangers in the world but i don't know what happen to him because he hasn't won a panorama in 11 years and i know he could easily win another one

you should ask pantrinbago that. 9 panorama's in a space of 15 years, some say too much too soon... but Dr. Jit IS the greatest of all time.

I don't think Jit is no longer arranging for the band anymore, although I'm not entirely sure. His son Amrit took over the arranging duties for Renegades this past year. He did quite well in my opinion. They should have place much higher at the Finals. As far as why Jit hasn't been able to win another Panorama since '97...maybe his style of arranging has become a little to predictable? It's hard to explain the reason because I wish I knew as well.

predictable i think is streching it... i dont think you could of tell me what Jit would of done before you heard it, but on hearing it you would say "yea that's is Jit". It was a familiar style or in Jits case a formular to win the panorama... the judging criteria changed when Arnold came into office in 98, which favored Bradley's style of music. Just for argument sake if Jit was predictable what are you saying about Boogsie these past years?

Boogsie has become predictable these past few years also. What we can be grateful for however, is to have been around in the times of Bradley, Jit, Boogsie, Smooth, Ray. They're all predictable once you know their music, but each are distinctly different from each other which made for a good listening competition. Sadly, outside of these guys, tomorrow's arrangers don't seem to be coming with their own distinct voice, making panorama somewhat less interesting than it once was.

1992: I was there, helped pushing the wagons on stage. Bought myself a Tenor Pan from the maker and tuner of Renegades' pans. Brought it back to Denmark. My first and until now only visit to Trinidad - one of the "Big Fives" in my life. Great to see this.
