I do hope the show takes its time on this storyline. They don't have to start off making wild and passionate love from the start. There are gay men who don't think that sex is what a relationship is all about.

I've lost almost all my fave couples/people already, let's add a new one. It'd be a nice change from all the death and drama.

And also, Chris is absolutely adorable. They need to keep him alive even by the means of making him a sexless creature. A little romance won't hurt though. It's just not convincing peers of his age are getting so much loving in the romance department and all he has is the mechanic thingy. So him some love. But don't kill him or his other half.

I think over the couple of years we have so many gay (and some interesting) characters being killed off, we have like Roman, Reid, Kieron, Jackson, Ron, Edwin, Ianto and Fer to name a "few" or gay characters being written off like Ian, Teddy, Marco and shows that features gay characters being axed/ended - Scotty, Kevin, Oliver, Kyle, Luke, Noah etc. I think it's understandable fans of gay characters are getting edgy and skeptical on the lifespan of a gay character.

I think everyone is anxious for this storyline to go somewhere since so many Soaps are killing the gay characters off, I think they call it politics as usual. Developement of Gay Character story lines seem to be touchy subjects all over the world, not just in the US but Everywhere. We get to liking a character who just happens to be gay and just like the parents we are, we want them to get into a meaningful relationship, get married and settle down and adopt children, or get a puppy.

I little dismayed by the comments that this will not develop into a good storyline. I don't think soaps should do Gay storylines if they are not gonna go full throttle. What's the point? These characters just wind up being sexless background players. Other countries(I'm in the US) are not as progressive as I always thought when it comes to Gay characters on soaps. I've seen way more stuff on soaps here. I really hope they handle this right and give us something good cuz I like Chris.

@jenn1916 I agree with you but homosexuality is still such a controversial issue across the world. Gay characters deserve love lives just like the straight characters BUT people still have anxieties about homosexuality. Even in developed nations like the Netherlands the good times bad time storyline with Edwin and Lucas caused controversy. In Holland some fans of that soap were upset when Edwin and Lucas had gay sex.

@JordanjamesX I follow the Edwin/Lucas storyline so I know the controversy it cause when they had sex. That really suprised me. I think I am just naive when it comes to these things. I always thought that the US was backwards when it came to TV in general and that other countries were more progressive. Apparently, that is just not the case. With that said, I still hope the storyline is not too vanilla. But I won't get my hopes up.

No this is an Australian show they had a lesbian kiss on home and away ( our other soap ) and the controversy end with the character written less then month later

@pump066 The writers on VL rushed Christian and Oliver back together they just got married a second time. However, the guys are now in the background of that show. It seems gays are either dying on soaps or pushed into the background.
